“Arbeit macht Frei” slogan hi-jacked by Holocaust historians

The infamous “Arbeit Macht Frei” slogan that was put on the gates into some of the concentration camps during World War II has now become an icon of the Holocaust — even though this motto had nothing whatsoever to do with the genocide of the Jews.   The slogan is in the news again because the Swedish guy who confessed to instigating the theft of the sign at Auschwitz last year was sentenced on Dec. 30, 2010 to 32 months in a Swedish prison.

Here is a quote from one of the news articles about the case:

“For Holocaust survivors, the theft at Auschwitz was not just about stealing a sign but about stealing our collective memory and pain,” the American Gathering of Holocaust Survivors and their Descendants said in an e-mailed statement.

The reason that the words “Arbeit Macht Frei” cause pain for Holocaust survivors is because it is now claimed that this sign was put up to taunt the Jews who could never be set free no matter how hard they worked. However, this sign was never put on the gates into the “death camps.”  It was only put on Class I camps where political prisoners and German criminals had a good chance of being set free.

Among the Class I concentration camps, where this sign was put on the gate, were Dachau, Sachsenhausen, the Auschwitz I camp, and the Gross-Rosen camp.  The “death camps” were the Auschwitz II camp (Birkenau), Majdanek, Treblinka, Belzec, Sobibor, and Chelmno.  None of these camps had the Arbeit Macht Frei sign.  The sign that was stolen in December 2009 was on the gate into the Auschwitz I camp, not the gate into Birkenau.

The Buchenwald camp did not have this sign because it was a Class II camp.  Mauthausen was a Class III camp for prisoners who were classified as “return unwanted.”

How many times do I have to tell you these things?

  1. […] Then we see a photo of the famous sign that says “Arbeit Macht Frei” which is now the slogan of the evil perpetrated by the Nazis in the Holocaust. I blogged about the meaning of this sign at… […]

  2. It passed more than thirteen years since I have read the revisionist literature for the first time. It was some sort of shocking experience for me. Besides of feeling of being deceived for so many years, I also came to realization that WWII is not in our past. The many issues had not been resolved even in 1997 and they are not resolved now. I understood back then, that holocaust agenda is a cart-blanch for the next war. Unfortunately, Mr. Berg is right. “Holocaust” exists as a pretext to the next war. “Hitlers” are being born every day. They were called Gamal Abdel Nasser, Saddam Hussein, Hugo Chavez and now it is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Since 1997, the holocaust propaganda machine is working over-time in order to revive old enemies and create new ones. All actions of Israel are justified because of the “suffering for the past three thousand years, culminated in holocaust”. The modern jewish state is armed to the teeth to suppress indigenous population of Palestine and destroy it’s neighbors.
“Holocaust” is not history. It is a religion, political agenda, financial enterprise, philosophy, strategic-military subversion, all of the above.

  3. Where do I find out more about the meanings pf Class 1, 2 and 3 concentration camps?

Does Furtherglory actually believe Birkenau, Majdanek or Treblinka were “death camps?”

    • This page of my website has a full explanation of the Class I, Class II and Class III camps:

I cannot answer your question about what I believe. I am planning to go to Germany in May this year and I don’t want to be arrested and put in prison for 5 years for having the wrong belief. You think it can’t happen to an American? Look up the stories of Fred Leuchter and Hans Schmidt, both of whom are American citizens, who spent time in German jails.

      • I know plenty about possible imprisonment since there actually was a warrant for my arrest there many years ago for holocaust denial. That warrant may still be in effect but I do not care to test it. In the meantime, I tell the truth as best I can from the US. Before too long, however, we may have a world war to prevent “another” holocaust from happening. Such a world war, which may have already started, will be the ultimate holocaust–and it is coming.

But, at some point, if you deny the hoax, you should take a public stand.

        • Are you familiar with the term “rendition?” That word could be used to characterize the transfer of Germar Rudolf and Ernst Zundel to Germany for trial. You could be next. There are now 14 countries with laws against Holocaust denial. What are you going to do when the USA passes a law that denies free speech to U.S. citizens? The law could be made retroactive and you would be immediately sent to prison. I am not sure about this, but I believe that Rudolf and Zundel are barred from coming back to America to live, even though they have wives and/or children here.

  4. The bizarre thing is if he hadn’t given an interview to a tabloid saying he was the middleman he would never have been accused of being such – or even suspected.

I do always enjoy it when infiltrators end up coping it. However I dare say the Industry will make it worth his while in the end.

Last I heard the 3 poles already convicted and given prison sentences did not turn up to serve them. I am not sure if that is still true.
