Why are there still 50,000 American soldiers in Germany?

Filed under: Germany — Tags: — furtherglory @ 11:05 am

I heard on a TV show that there are still 50,000 U.S. soldiers stationed in Germany.  Why is Germany still occupied?

When World War II ended, the US government made a film which instructed the American soldiers on how they were to treat the Germans.  You can see this film on YouTube.

  1. Not all Americans want to be stationed all around the world for no reason. You can call me a constitutionalist libertarian, and I believe that we should take ALL of our troops back and use them to defend our country, like what they want to do. I hate how we are stuck in this situation, and whenever the people who make sense say that we should withdraw our troops, people start ranting and raving about how everyone is after our freedom or something. I hate this American empire B.S. and I hate how far America has come from what it really stands for.

  3. I would recommend another book: “The Wolf of Kremlin”. It is about one of the Stalin’s jewish henchman Lazar Kaganovich. The book is written by his American nephew Stuart Kahan (the same last name was just “Americanized”). This book was published in 1987 and never reprinted after that. It is based on the personal conversations between uncle and nephew where Kaganovich explains the real relationship between USSR and USA among other things. The most interesting thing of his testimony is his transformation. He was raised to believe that the good things are only those which are good for the Jews. But, later he came to realization, that there are no abstract “Jews” per se, only individual Jews like himself. And from that point on, he began consider himself as most important Jew and his personal well-being was placed above the interests of all other Jews. Well, how would you argue with that! He made an excellent point!
He was opposing creation of Israel and called it the “State of Parasites”: the country without natural resources and scarce fresh water. I have zero doubts about authenticity of the book and the testimonies presented there. Stuart Kahan was not an historian by any definition. His knowledge of history was limited to the fact that he has an uncle, who was a highly important person in Stalin’s USSR. In the same time, the book consists the information which was not available to general public in 1987 and some of it is not even well-known today.
Highly recommended book, you would learn a lot about the politics and conspiracy in Russia/USSR and the rest of the world.
I have gotten two copies from Amazon, when they were relatively cheap. The books are falling apart because of the poor quality paper and bindings. But, they are worth every single penny, you’ve spent.
    P.S.
Stuart Kahan has never published any other historical books before, or later. He has published a book in late 1970th which was called “How to survive a divorce”, or something like that. The Kaganovich family in Russia publicly denied any relationship with him and called him imposter. However, there is no doubt that Stuart Kahan had the information from the original “source”, because he presented the facts, which are widely known today, but were not known at all in 1987 to general public.

  4. As follow up, USA had to take the Germans as allies against the old ally and friend, Stalin and communist Russia.
If Nazi Germans were bad boys, Russian comrades weren’t any better, 90 million dead because of communism, 50 years of cold war with Korea and Vietnam wars in between. Now a communist country is competing for superpower status, namely China.

I suggest a book, The Unnecessary War by Patrick Buchanan.

Definitely USA should make better choices.

  5. The film didn’t mention the Holocaust.

    • That is right. Shows again it was directly from Vansittart’s repetoire, which began pre-WWII and was always about German/Prussian “militarism” and belligerency. Not about the Jews at all.

  6. I sent this blogpost to a friend and he informed me that the script for this film was written by the notorious German-hater Lord Robert Vansittart, Undersecretary in Britain’s Foreign Office from 1930 on.

There is a book called “Black Record. Germans Past and Present”, first published in January 1941, a collection of Vansittart radio addresses. He said: “I make no further apology for keeping to the point – a sharp one – of the German will to wars. Germans have made five wars in the last seventy-five years, besides four ‘near misses’. If Germans had their way, there would have been a war every eight years for the last three-quarters of a century…”. What is interesting however is that he admits that the fight was against Germans, not Hitler.

The U.S. Army produced this film, but used Vansittart’s hate speech and a mean-voiced narrator. I don’t see anything funny about it, but I don’t have your preference for understatement and subtle meanings, since I think most people need to be hit over the head to notice things. Like this film does.

  7. This is a horrifying propaganda film. Even war does not excuse such blatant historical lies as the United States is putting out here to the soldiers. And at this point the war was over! But the U.S. Military and government can’t allow their soldiers to see any of it the way it really is; they have to keep them 100% loyal to the U.S.

Still, this is over the top in the shame department. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it. That business about who started the wars, and especially that Germany attacked all those countries in WWI, including the U.S.(!) is laughable is it weren’t such serious slander.

    • I saw this film shortly after the war and I thought it was funny. The film showed the Germans as charming and nice people, but then said “Don’t trust them.” As it turned out, the American soldiers started fraternizing with the Germans from day one. When I was there in 1957, there was nothing but fraternizing going on. We were out every night fraternizing with the Germans in the beer gardens. The rules had relaxed by that time because there was a Cold War going on now, and America needed the support of Germany. So the Germans were singing Nazi songs every night while the Germans and the Americans were fraternizing the night away.

  8. Mostly to bring black soldiers into Germany, as a form of psychological / racial warfare.

I have no doubt there are documents that actually describe this plan.

  9. This video is not available in Germany. Anyway, there is always http://www.hidemyass.com for my dear fellow Germans 🙂

The Soviets left after their empire had collapsed. I would not be be surprised if the Americans will leave Germany for the same reason by 2020.
