Records found in the 1990s show that the father of Daniel Goldsmith was killed in a gas chamber

I have always thought that there are no records of the prisoners who were gassed at Auschwitz.  I have always heard that selections were made, just after the Jews arrived on trains at Auschwitz, and those who were selected for the gas chamber were not registered.  No records were made for the prisoners who were gassed, according to every Holocaust book that I’ve ever read.

But according to a recent talk, given by Holocaust survivor Daniel Goldsmith at a Catholic school, there was a record made for his father, who was “killed in a gas chamber.”  You can read the full story in a news article here.

This quote is from the news article:

Daniel Goldsmith, a Holocaust child survivor, and Bernard Lens, a World War II veteran who helped liberate the Dachau concentration camp, visited Hilltown’s St. Agnes-Sacred Heart Catholic School for a slideshow presentation on the Holocaust Thursday, Oct. 11.

[…]

In the fall of 1944, the town he were (sic) living in was liberated by American soldiers, and he was able to reunite with his mother. Goldsmith found out from his mother that his father had died in the Auschwitz concentration camp.

[…]

Years later, in the 1990s, Goldsmith found records that stated his father had been killed in a gas chamber.

This is BIG NEWS.  The records of the prisoners who were gassed at Auschwitz have apparently been found.  This means the end of Holocaust denial.

The memorial stones, at the International Monument in the former Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, now say that 1.5 million people died at Auschwitz.  This number is an estimate.  Now that the records have been found, the stones, which originally said that 4 million had died at Auschwitz, will have to be changed again and this time the exact figure for the number of Jews who were gassed can be put on the memorial stones.

Original plaque at the International Monument in Auschwitz-Birkenau

Memorial stone at the International Monument in Auschwitz-Birkenau

The old black and white photo above shows that the original plaque at the Internationl Monument claimed that 4 million people died at Auschwitz-Birkenau.  The color photo shows the new plaque which says that 1.5 million died at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

As shown in the color photo, the English inscription reads:

FOR EVER LET THIS PLACE BE A CRY OF DESPAIR AND A WARNING TO HUMANITY, WHERE THE NAZIS MURDERED ABOUT ONE AND A HALF MILLION MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN MAINLY JEWS FROM VARIOUS COUNTRIES OF EUROPE. AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU 1940-1945

From 1986 to April 3, 1990, the words on the English plaque read:

FOUR MILLION PEOPLE SUFFERED AND DIED HERE AT THE HANDS OF THE NAZI MURDERERS BETWEEN THE YEARS 1940 AND 1945.

Four million was the number of Auschwitz-Birkenau victims that the Soviet prosecutors at the Nuremberg IMT claimed in their charges against the Nazi war criminals in November 1945.

After the fall of Communism in 1989, the Soviet Union released the 46 death register books (Sterbebücher) which they had captured when they liberated the Auschwitz and Birkenau camps on Jan. 27, 1945. The books, which were turned over to the International Red Cross, contained the names of 69,000 prisoners who had died in the Auschwitz-Birkenau camps from July 27, 1941 to December 31, 1943.

The Auschwitz I camp opened on May 20, 1940 and both camps were evacuated on Jan. 18, 1945, so some of the death registers were missing. The Red Cross extrapolated these figures and estimated that there was a total of 135,000 registered deaths at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

The Jews who were gassed had allegedly not been registered in the camp and their deaths were not included in the records that were turned over to the Red Cross in 1989.

The train records for the Jews who were transported to Auschwitz have never been found, but it has been estimated that a total of 1.3 million Jews were sent to Auschwitz and around 200,000 were eventually sent to other camps after being registered. Based on these figures, the total number of deaths at Auschwitz-Birkenau is now estimated to be 1.1 million, including 900,000 Jewish deaths.

Strangely, the records, to which Daniel Goldsmith alluded, were found in the 1990s.  This was after the Russians had turned over the records from the camp to the Red Cross.

I am looking forward to reading more about the records that were found in the 1990s, since apparently these records name names.  This will finally put an end to Holocaust denier Bradley Smith asking for the name of just one person who was gassed.  (I love Bradley Smith; he is a great writer, but he is constantly making trouble. He writes on the CODOH website.)

  1. It is hard to describe my feelings after vistiting the death camps. Therfore I use my words and my music to describe it.

  2. Furtherglory, do you remember you mentioned one Danny Goldsmith in your blog on February 16, 2012.

6 months ago, Goldsmith was never caught by the Gestapo or was sent to a concentration camp, but had several close encounters with the Nazis.
He was hiding in Denmark and his mother got her leg blown-off by a bomb. No daring escape from a moving train.

Last week, he hid in Belgium, was caught by the Nazis and sent to three prisons; he jumped from a train with other boys.

Evidently, “Danny Goldsmith” and “Daniel Goldsmith” are one and the same person.

Note his peculiar hairstyle, the same shirt and necktie.

This guy tells whatever goes through his head to spread hatred of Germans and Christians.

Does he really belong to schools?

I suppose this is a reference to the work of Franciszek Piper. I wonder what he based himself upon if you say no train records survived? Do you have any information on his work or what he used to determine the 1.1 million figure? I have the impression that if he used one of Hoess’ other confessions that contain the 1.1 million figure, we have a historian working to make the figure match the narrative.

  4. From the story you linked to:

His mother snuck him and his sister to the roof, and they lay flat there under a blanket.
One German soldier went up to the roof and looked around with a flashlight, but he did not see the Goldsmith family hiding.

The oldest one was a 16-year-old boy named Joseph who used a piece of steel to pry away some wood of the train in order to make an opening. Then, he helped the others out of the train car, pushing them out one-by-one when the train had slowed.

    Waoh!

Goldsmith found out from his mother that his father had died in the Auschwitz concentration camp.

…but didn’t find the time to fill a form at the Yad Vashem Database.

  5. “I did not know that the records are not open to known Holocaust deniers.”

David Irving is banned from all German archives and Eric Hunt is banned from the Stanford University Library which houses Steven Speilberg’s Shoah Project filmed interviews with survivors.

    • I don’t blame Stanford University for banning Eric Hunt. The nerve of that young man! Making fun of Holocaust survivor Irene Zisblatt! After what that woman went through —swallowing her diamonds and defecating them while she was in Auschwitz-Birkenau! Fortunately, Eric Hunt has other places to do research and turn up new evidence on his blog at http://www.holocaustdenier.com/ which I recommend to all.

  6. “On the point of records not being open to Holocaust deniers; why would the deniers want to look at something that allegedly doesn’t exist in the first place?”

You’ve been fooled by the language. Holocaust “deniers” don’t deny the Holocaust happened they simply question the received history of those events. For this they have been demonized as “deniers” by the media, academia and by what Norman Finklestein (whose parents were “survivors”) calls The Holocaust Industry. These “deniers” just want to know what is true and what is not. Read some revisionist books and articles and then go and cross check the information presented for yourself to see if it’s correct. Don’t miss out on the fun. Holocaust “denial” is rapidly gaining ground on stamp collecting as one of America’s most popular family pastimes!

  7. In 2007….Survivors Outraged at Holocaust Museum over Bad Arolsen

“…In an era of the instant access offered by Google, Yahoo, Proquest and Lexis-Nexis, Holocaust survivors and leaders cannot understand why the United States government cannot make the documents available to every local library or home computer the way government documents are ordinarily accessed.

On May 9, one representative of several survivors groups sent a note to Congressional staffers who work on committees considering the Museum’s quest to secure sole control of the Bad Arolsen archive, declaring, “The consensus – from survivors as well as community leaders — is that something is definitely amiss here. The Museum seems to be constructing an access protocol based on a continuing sensitivity to European privacy concerns and probably in a way that masks individual company involvement in slave labor system. By no means…will this be made internet-accessible.” http://hnn.us/articles/38788.html

Maybe things are easier in 2012 for the general public and “deniers” (clean up your language!) to access the archive. I don’t know about the USHMM’s database, but who can obtain information from the ITS in Germany is listed here: http://www.its-arolsen.org/en/inquiries_by_survivors_and_family_members/index.html?expand=332&cHash=a0a73aed0b

  8. Unfortuntely, not only those that were marched straight to the gas chambers, from the transports that arrived in the death camps on a daily basis, there were also those that worked in the camps, in particular and for example one such group, the sondercommandos (all registered and numbered tatooed inmates), who were in turn, during selections of fitness that were operated on a regular basis via the camp doctors, were sent to the gas chambers and replaced by those on newer incoming transports.

The ‘working’ ethic and the death ethic was of a cyclical momentum; the actions in the camp were such that new slave labour replaced the starved and weakened slave labour who were registered and stamped according to their registration.

On the point of records not being open to Holocaust deniers; why would the deniers want to look at something that allegedly doesn’t exist in the first place?

    • Holocaust deniers would be very interested in seeing the records which show the names of the prisoners who were gassed. That would prove that people were gassed, and there would be no more Holocaust deniers.

  9. This story, like Slovenian-American Associated Press reporter VERENA DOBNIK’s recent story about being shown Elie Wiesel’s Auschwitz tattoo while interviewing him about the publication of his most recent book of bathos, is misleading. The archive Goldsmith found his father’s name in the l990’s is undoubtedly the Arolsen Archive http://www.its-arolsen.org/en/archives/index.html. However, it’s now a matter of record that there is no name there in which gassing is listed as a cause of death. So, Mr. Goldsmith is embellishing his story, but because the Arolsen Archive is off limits to the general public (and especially to known Holocaust skeptics like Bradley Smith) members of the Amalgamated Holocaust Industry Workmen Locals like shop steward Elie Wiesel and Mr. Goldsmith can slither into schools and fib away with impunity to impressionable young children about their terrifying golden cash calf, the eternal and most holy Holocaust.

    • It is my understanding that the “general public” can go to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and get access to the ONLINE records from Arolsen, which are open to everyone. I don’t understand how anyone can be banned from seeing the records at the USHMM since America is allegedly a free country. The USHMM was paid for by American tax payers.

I would think that the Holocaust industry people would want Bradley Smith to see the Arolsen records so that he can finally learn that there are, in fact, records of Jews who were gassed. Or is Bradley banned from seeing the Arolsen records because the USHMM does not want him to know that there are no records of anyone being gassed?

I looked up Arolsen on Wikipedia and found this information:

      Begin quote:

The International Commission at its May 2007 meeting approved the US Holocaust Memorial Museum’s proposal to permit advance distribution of the material, as it is digitized, to the designated repository institutions prior to the completion of the agreement ratification process officially opening the material. In August 2007, the USHMM received the first installment of records and in November 2007, received the Central Name Index. Materials will continue to be received as they are digitized.[9]

One Institution is designated for each of the 11 countries to receive a copy of the archive. The following locations have been designated by their country.[9]

United States – United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
      End quote

I did not know that the records are not open to known Holocaust deniers.
