Eva Kor has forgiven Dr. Hans Munch even though he “did operate the gas chambers where so many Jews died…”

Eva Kor was one of the twins who was experimented on by Dr. Josef Mengle at Auschwitz.  This quote is from a news article which you can read in full here:

[Eva] Kor’s story goes back to August 1944 when, at the age of 10, she, her parents, her twin and two older sisters all were loaded with other Jewish prisoners onto a cattle car and transported to Auschwitz. She and Miriam were torn from the rest of their family — the sisters never saw their parents or siblings again.

The two girls became part of a group of children, an estimated 1,500 sets of twins, used in genetic experiments directed by Mengele. Only a fraction of the children were discovered alive when the camp was liberated on Jan. 27, 1945. […]

She managed to get in contact with Dr. Hans Munch, who knew Mengele but wasn’t part of the twins experiments. Munch did, however, operate the gas chambers where so many Jews died. Kor and Munch met in Germany.

“The chances I would meet the only Nazi doctor after the war who was actually involved in genocide was a very interesting thing,” she said. “I didn’t know when I asked to meet him. I wanted him to come to the conference.”

Out of that meeting came a seed that eventually grew into Kor’s forgiveness of Munch, and even of Mengele. Kor will share the details of how that happened in her talk.

Note that Dr. Munch has the title of Dr. but Dr. Mengele does not, even though Dr. Mengele was a medical Doctor and also had a doctorate in Anthropology.  Dr. Mengele is always referred to, by Holocaustians,  as Mengele or as the Angel of Death, never by his titles.  Even though Eva Kor was saved by Dr. Mengele from the gas chamber (which Dr. Munch “did, however, operate”) he can never be given the title of Doctor in a Holocaust related news article.

I am curious to know if Dr. Hans Munch has ever given any details about how he operated the gas chambers. I find it remarkable that Eva Kor can forgive a “Nazi doctor” who was “actually involved in genocide.”

  1. Dr Hans Munch never operated a gas chamber a gas chamber and furthermore refused to take part in selections. He actually saved quite a few people and even supplied a prisoner with a revolver for his journey. He was acquitted of war crimes due to the testimony of camp survivers

  2. So now there are 20 million Jews killed in the Holocaust…go on folks why not make it 6 billion the MSM would still publish your figures and the law would allow you to be jailed for doubting it.

    • Thanks for giving us this link. The photo that accompanies the story shows the gate into the Sachsenhausen camp. Daniel Goldhagen didn’t even include Sachsenhausen in his book “Hitler’s Willing Executioners.” I previously blogged about Sachsenhausen at

My point is that the Holocaust has been growing and growing until now the number of dead has reached 20 million. I fully expect the number to grow to 60 million in the future.

      • As each of the nearly 6Million survivors claims to have lost from 69 to 200 family members, and anything in between, the Holocaust may well have amounted to hundreds of millions of precious Jewish lives.

        • You have been doing meth instead of math. 6 million Jews and 5 million others. It’s eleven million

  3. Dr Munch ha! What a circus that was. From being the ” good doctor” of Auschwitz he suddenly became in his last years when he was 88 a Nazi fiend! He participated with Dr Schilling in the Dachau malaria experiments but somehow escaped the rope. He was tried in Cracow and was the only defendant acquited .All very odd .He was certainly demented in his 80s and would say anything . He was to be prosecuted by the Bavarian authorities in 1998 but even they realized he was senile.
