Survivor of the Stutthof camp was not sent to the gas chamber because she pinched her cheeks and stood tall in order to look healthy

During the Holocaust, the Nazis didn’t gas prisoners who were capable of working.  Nor did they gas anyone between the ages of 15 and 45.  The secret to avoiding the gas chamber was to look healthy enough to work, and to lie about your age.

The Stutthof gas chamber

The Stutthof gas chamber

One of the little known camps that had a gas chamber was the Stutthof camp near the city formerly known as Danzig.  A photo of the gas chamber is shown above.  Notice the small structure to the left of the door.  This looks like a place where coal was burned to heat the gas chamber hot enough to release the gas from the Zyklon-B pellets.

The photo below shows the inside of the Stuffhof gas chamber.  The stains on the walls are proof that this is a Gaskammer.

Holocaust survivor Nesse Godin recently gave a talk to workers at Northrop Grumman Technical Services in Herndon, VA.  You can read about her talk here.

This quote is from the news article about Ms. Godin’s talk:

In 1944, Godin said the few Jews remaining in the Siauliai ghetto were deported to the Stutthof concentration camp near Danzig, Poland. Godin said she became prisoner “number 54015” and was separated from her mother and brother Jecheskel. Her other brother, Menashe, evaded deportation with the help of a gentile friend, and remained in hiding, she said.

In the camp, Godin said older Jewish women looked after her, protecting her and advising her on how to survive. “They would make me stand tall and pinch my cheeks to get the blood flowing in them when the Germans came around to take sick people away to the gas chambers,” she said. “If you looked sick, there was a good chance you would be chosen to die. Those women saved my life. ”

The gas chamber at Stutthof is little known, but I mentioned it in a previous blog post about the gas chambers that are still in existence.

Wikipedia confirms that there was a homicidal gas chamber at Stutthof, although it could hold only 150 prisoners at a time.  Zyklon-B was a dangerous gas.  It hardly seems worth it to have a homicidal gas chamber that could gas only 150 prisoners at a time.  It would have been more efficient to just shoot the sick prisoners at Stutthof.

This quote is from Wikipedia:

A crematorium and gas chamber were added [at Stutthof] in 1943, just in time to start mass executions when Stutthof was included in the “Final Solution” in June 1944. Mobile gas wagons were also used to complement the maximum capacity of the gas chamber (150 people per execution) when needed.

This quote is also from Wikipedia:

The evacuation of prisoners from the Stutthof camp system in northern Poland began in January 1945. When the final evacuation began, there were nearly 50,000 prisoners, the majority of them Jews, in the Stutthof camp system. About 5,000 prisoners from Stutthof subcamps were marched to the Baltic Sea coast, forced into the water, and machine-gunned. The rest of the prisoners were marched in the direction of Lauenburg in eastern Germany. Cut off by advancing Soviet forces the Germans forced the surviving prisoners back to Stutthof. Marching in severe winter conditions and brutal treatment by SS guards led to thousands of deaths.

In late April 1945, the remaining prisoners were removed from Stutthof by sea, since the camp was completely encircled by Soviet forces. Again, hundreds of prisoners were forced into the sea and shot. Over 4,000 were sent by small boat to Germany, some to the Neuengamme concentration camp near Hamburg, and some to camps along the Baltic coast.

Fortunately, Ms. Godin was sent out of the Stutthof camp before the evacuation of the camp.  This quote is from the news article about her talk:

In January 1945, when she was 16, Grodin said she was sent on a forced death march with a group of approximately 1,000 fellow female prisoners that lasted six weeks, marching from sunup to sundown with inadequate shoes and clothing in terrible weather conditions.

“When the Soviet army liberated the group on March 10, 1945, only 200 women, including me, were still alive,” she said. “On my 17th birthday —18 days later — I only weighed 69 pounds, but I had survived and I was free.”

If you ever read the story of a Holocaust survivor, who does not know how much he or she weighed when they were liberated, you will know that they are not a real survivor.

Assuming that Nesse was around 5 feet tall and weighed only 69 pounds, she was 30 pounds underweight.  In other words, a skeleton.

Out of interest does anyone have any information about the trial of the poor unfortunates who had been overseers at Stutthof who were judicially strangled after the war for being ” war criminals” according to the Kosher web sites. What was the level of proof needed to satisfy the court ? Was it just hearsay evidence like the British and US post war trials ? .

  4. The Stutthof-Danzig human soap controversy of 2006. Herr professor Joachim Neander concludes that the notorious Nazi “monster” Dr. Spanner was indeed making soap from human fat, but with German corpses, not Jewish or Polish ones, provided by the local insane asylum and prison not the Stutthof lager. The parsing and pilpul (Talmudic hair splitting) going on here is like watching an exciting episode of “Dancing With the Stars” and is typical of the grace with which the terpsichorean priest class of Holocaust horror cult revise and defend their dogma.

    • I wrote about how soap is made on this blog post:

I don’t think that any soap was made from human fat at any of the camps.

      • Mr F Glory
Your thoughts on soap etc are noted.
Is it your position also that between 1939 and 1945 concentration camp prisoners were not executed in gas chambers and , in particular, that there was no plan by the Nazis to execute large numbers of Jews ?
Your formal and clear confirmation of your position in this regard would be appreciated.

        Comment by Shin Beth — September 20, 2013 @ 5:59 am

        • You are using the “User name” Shin Beth, which indicates to me that you are with the Israel Security Force.

You are asking for my “formal and clear confirmation” of my “position” in regard to the gassing of “concentration camp prisoners” between 1939 and 1945, and for my position regarding the “plan by the Nazis to execute large numbers of Jews.”

Are you planning to kidnap me and take me to Israel for trial? If you are, you should know that I am 80 years old, and I might not survive the trip, so don’t waste your money.

There were no “concentration camp prisoners” executed in gas chambers in 1939. According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, which is the supreme authority on the Holocaust in the USA, the year 1939 was the start of the killing of mental patients and people with disabilities in euthanasia centers, such as Hartheim Castle. The people who were killed were Germans; I don’t know if any of them were Jews.

I wrote about Hartheim Castle on this blog post:

The “gas chamber” at Hartheim Castle used carbon monoxide.

As for the gas chambers used to kill the concentration camp prisoners, I blogged about them at

Note that the photos on my blog post show that the gas chambers were not remotely alike. To me, this means that there was no “plan.” If there had been a plan to execute large numbers of Jews in gas chambers, there would have been a plan for a gas chamber, designed by a gas chamber expert.

I blogged about the gas chamber engineers at

The plan to get the Jews out of Europe was known as “The Final Solution to the Jewish Question.” The Jewish Question was “Should the Jews assimilate in the country where they live, or should they have their own country?” This plan was the plan to transport the Jews to the East. Gassing was not mentioned in this plan.

    • Interesting part of a comment from the link you’ve posted, wdw.

At the Institute, human body parts, limbs and organs, were prepared by maceration – a normal activity of an anatomic institute. In the maceration process used at the Institute, a soapy grease originates as a by-product. This grease, in normal times thrown into the waste basket, can be used for simple cleaning purposes, especially after some refining (yielding the “finished soap” presented at the Nuremberg trial), and it certainly was used for this purpose in the last months of the war within the Institute. Tasteless, without doubt, but never a crime.

It’s all so dishonest. Since he is a holocaust believer, why does he have to hide his true identity?

          • But Joachim is a German name, as in Joachim Peiper. I had a teacher, in Missouri where there are lots of German-Americans, who pronounced the name of Joaquim Miller with the German pronunciation. In California, it is pronounced with the Spanish pronunciation. People in California may not think that Joachim is a German name.

I’ve understand he has Polish ancestry (he speaks the language fluently) and that he was a boy during the war. I only know this from people who remember him from the odoh’s, where he had a reputation as a nice guy who would share documents and help people with translations.

        • You can only find it in the Wiki Dictionary under Neanderthal.

From the name of the German valley where Neanderthal 1 was discovered in 1856. The Düsseltal (from German Düssel, a small tributary of the River Rhine + tal (“valley”)) itself was renamed (from Das Gesteins (“The Rockiness”) and/or Das Hundsklipp (“The Cliff of Dogs”)) in the early 19th century to Neandershöhle (“Neander’s Hollow”), and again in 1850 to Neanderthal (“Neander Valley”); both names were in honour of the German Calvinist theologian and hymn writer Joachim Neander (1650–1680). The surname Neander is a Romanisation of the Greek translation of the original German surname Neumann (“New man”), for which reason Homo neanderthalensis is sometimes called New man in English.

  5. Stutthof is also interesting because of the hoax of Nazi human soaps.

After being defamated with human soap stories during WW1 (admitted to be a hoax by the British Foreign Secretary Sir Austen Chamberlain in 1925) and WW2 (admitted to be a hoax by researchers of the Yad Vashem in 1990) we are now supposed to believe the Germans developed “an industrial process for producing soap from human bodies” at the Danzig Anatomical Institute during WW2, just as if the Nazis had deliberately wanted to credit their enemies’ war propaganda for a futile purpose (soap is not essential for survival, especially when you’re losing the greatest war the world has ever seen). That’s ridiculous…

It’s also said that “in his book Russia at War 1941 to 1945, Alexander Werth reported that while visiting Gdansk/Danzig in 1945 shortly after its liberation by the Red Army, he saw an experimental factory outside the city for making soap from human corpses.” So the Bolsheviks allegedly had a real Nazi human soap factory in their hands, but we are now supposed to believe they destroyed that ‘evidence’ after WW2 (as they did with the alleged Sachsenhausen gas chamber) as that alleged soap factory is nowhere to be found today. Ridiculous once again…

The Stutthof/Danzig human soap story really sounds like a pathetic attempt to say “OK. We’ve lied on the scale of that atrocity, but not on the atrocity itself”.

    • I have just noticed that the photo of the Stutthof gas chamber has some stains on the outside of the building. It looks like these might be stains, made by objects that were leaned against the building after they had been disinfected. There are brick building at Auschwitz-Birkenau that have blue stains on the outside, made by a mattress that was placed against the building to dry after it had been disinfected with Zyklon-B.

    • This quote is from the Wikipedia article:

      Begin quote:
The specific story is part of a report titled “The Extermination of the Jews of Lvov” attributed to I. Herts and Naftali Nakht:

In another section of the Belzec camp was an enormous soap factory. The Germans picked out the fattest people, murdered them, and boiled them down for soap.
      End quote

How many of the people, who are writing about the making of human soap, have actually seen soap being made? The Wikipedia article says that people were “murdered … and boiled …. down for soap.”

To make soap, you do not “boil down” the whole animal. No, you cut the fat OFF a fat sow, and boil the fat along with some ashes to make soap. The Belzec camp was in a remote spot, far from any ENORMOUS factories of any kind.

      • Jewish liars have also claimed that the entire Lvov ghetto – 80,000 Jews – had been gassed in one night at Belsen or Auschwitz (Auschwitz was also talked about during the Belsen ‘trial’ because Kramer had previously worked in both places).

A documented “Holocaust”, you said? 😉

        Comment by hermie — August 19, 2013 @ 8:07 am

        • I think that the story of the Lvov ghetto is that the Jews were sent to Belzec, not to Belsen. Belsen was an exchange camp. Belzec was either a transit camp for “transportation to the East,” or a death camp, depending on your beliefs.

A few people claim that there was a gas chamber at Belsen, but I don’t think that people in 17 countries are required, under penalty of 5 years in prison, to believe that Belsen had a gas chamber. The main evidence of a gas chamber at Belsen was the story of a little boy who survived being gassed FIVE TIMES.

That’s what is said now, But I remember the Western media formerly often reported ‘testimonies’ about the Belsen gas chambers, until as late as in the 1990’s. The Belsen mass graves full of typhic bodies were even said to be mass graves full of gassed people at that time.

  6. The ‘official truth’ has so many contradictions it’s unbelievable, but then you understand why most of Europe has laws to silence people who dare to point this out.
    For example :-

here we have a ‘gas chamber’ that those fiendish Germans made no attempt to destroy.

at Treblinka, the camp was dismantled in order to remove the evidence. But visit now and you’re greeted with the ‘ashes’ of the ‘murdered’. Really?

the Sturdy Colls investigation needs ‘further’ analysis. I’m quite sure I could find, in less than 10 mins, at least some evidence of the mass murder and cremation of ‘800,000’ people, in a small field. But not this expert, not even with all her ground penetrating radar ha!

at Auschwitz they destroyed the gas chambers, and then left behind thousands of witnesses. Witnesses who, according to the truth, were apparently ‘murdered’ immediately after getting off the train, but clearly weren’t.

    Etc etc etc

  7. Polish historian Krzysztof Dunin-Wasowicz thinks that gas chamber was a delousing gas chamber. What’s Germar Rudolf’s opinion on that room?

Polish historian Krzysztof Dunin-Wasowicz believes that this building was neither designed nor built as a homicidal gassing facility. In an essay published in a semi-official work about the alleged homicidal “gas chambers,” he writes that this building was built as a (non-homicidal) gas chamber for treating clothes. However, he goes on to claim that this it was sometimes also improvisationally used to kill people. (“Originally the gas chamber was built as a room for delousing clothing, and it continued to be used for this purpose, too, for as long as it existed.”)

Interestingly, the “gas chamber” building is not at all hidden or camouflaged, nor is it disguised as a shower. Therefore, if it had actually been used as a homicidal gassing facility, prospective victims apparently would have been under no illusion about the fate that awaited them. It is worth noting that the Germans in charge of the camp never made any effort to destroy or dismantle Stutthof’s supposed “extermination facility,” which is difficult to believe if, in fact, it had been a execution gas chamber.

Most of the so-called “gas chambers” have no blue stains, indicating that they were morgues or real showers. The fact that the Stutthof gas chamber has very heavy stains indicates that it was a disinfection chamber. That is why I called it a Gaskammer, the German word for a disinfection chamber that used Zykon-B to disinfect clothes.

I am sure that Germar Rudolf classified it as a disinfection chamber. It looks like the disinfection chambers, which he examined at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

The Mauthausen ‘gas chamber’ with its functional showers, floor drain and very weird gassing process, the Hartheim ‘gas chamber’ with its window and its missing gassing apparatus (making the alleged Reinhardt gassings ridiculous with their low CO fumes when compared to the bottles of pure CO allegedly used in the Euthanasia institutes previously), the Dachau ‘gas chamber’ “never used as a gas chamber” (even if some people now try to resurrect it by claiming that was a gas chamber used to test poison gasses, but not very often) and the Majdanek ‘gas chambers’ disappearing one after the other (downgraded to delousing gas chambers). All this only leaves ruins which anyone can put any fantasy on…

Have the Soviets or the Communist Poles drilled an alleged “introduction hole” in the roof of that gas chamber as they did at Auschwitz? And how did that gas chamber work (same sophisticated apparatus as in the other delousing gas chambers?)?

        Comment by hermie — August 16, 2013 @ 4:23 pm

        • I am pretty sure that someone just walked into the Stutthof gas chamber and put the Zykon-B pellets, which were in a wire basket, on the floor of the disinfection chamber. Pellets do not NEED to be dropped through holes in the roof. Just put them in a basket on the floor, then come back and get them, for future use, when all the lice in the clothes are dead. Why take the added step of climbing up on a roof, and falling off?

          • FG wrote: “Why take the added step of climbing up on a roof, and falling off?”

Because if someone had opened the door in order to put Zyklon B pellets on the floor, the poor future gassed victims would have rushed out. But that was no problem if that room was a delousing chamber – and only a delousing chamber – as we both think it was. The absence of any introduction hole in the roof of that building would definitely prove that room couldn’t have been used for homicidal purpose – never.

I mean, they weren’t designed overnight, were they? Or were they?

Surely if a state organisation had been tasked with the design and construction of these things, there would be lots of documentation showing designs and prototypes etc but there isn’t, and surely these chambers would all be the same in all respects, size, Zyklon B doseage, ventilation settings etc. But they’re not.

    1. Wikipedia is a kosher source of information and is orientated to support and protect the state of Israel and the power and influence of the Jewish people in the world.
    2. The victors had a show sham trial for the guards at Stutthof, and delighted in slowly strangling innocent women and men who had served there before a crowd of 50,000 including many children.

Back in those days, I used to get a lot of questions from students, who read my website, and wanted clarification on some point. Of course, I gave them the official version, not the revisionist version. Then came the day when Wikipedia was recommended by teachers, and I got no more e-mails from students. I’m glad, because the students who e-mailed me, did not know the slightest, smallest thing about the Holocaust, and it took a lot of my time to explain things to them.
