Bill O’Reilly has a new book for the urchins, entitled “Hitler’s Last Days”

Update June 16, 2015:

I was ready to order this book, so I went to amazon.com and prepared to purchase it.  But first, I read some of the reviews. Sadly, the reviews were not good; most people said that the book was only a rehash of Bill’s book “Killing Patton.”

Continue reading my original post:

Regular viewers of Bill O’Reilly’s TV show know that, at the end of every show, he gives a bit of wisdom which he calls his “Tip of the day.”

Last night’s Tip of the Day was a plug for his new children’s book entitled Hitler’s Last Days. According to Bill, “Hitler was the most evil man who ever lived.”

What about Ghengis Khan?  Sorry, he is not even in the running for the title of the most evil man.  Hitler was responsible for the killing of 6 million Jews, and you can’t get any more evil than that.   You can order the book here.

Hitler, who was the most evil man in the world, had no fear of his admirers

O’Reilly said, on his show last night, that his book Killing Patton has sold so many copies that he decided to follow it up with a children’s book about Hitler. How are these two subjects even remotely related?

I wrote a review, of Bill’s book about Patton, in which I pointed out that Patton had absolutely nothing to do with Auschwitz, yet Bill devoted two chapters to Auschwitz.

Hitler was noted for his love of children. Was this pointed out in Bill O’Reilly’s new children’s book?

This quote is from the website where you can order the book:

Hitler’s Last Days is a gripping account of the death of one of the most reviled villains of the 20th century–a man whose regime of murder and terror haunts the world even today. Adapted from Bill O’Reilly’s historical thriller Killing Patton, this book will have young readers–and grown-ups too–hooked on history.

It is unfortunate that the urchins [O’Reilly’s name for children] will not have a chance to learn the full story of Hitler.

In the 1930ies and 1940ies, Hitler’s admirers used to gather at the Berghof [Hitler’s mountain retreat] just like the Elvis fans who stood outside Graceland, hoping to get a glimpse of their idol.

The German people literally worshiped the ground that Hitler walked on. After Hitler made an occasional appearance to greet his fans, they would gather up the sand upon which Hitler had stood.

Hitler was known as “the people’s Chancellor” because he was a common man, and he did what the German people wanted. Before World War II started, Hitler was more loved than any other leader in world history; his approval rating was 98%.

As the man who was allegedly responsible for the deaths of 60 million people, including 6 million Jews, Hitler has now become the most hated man in the world.

Now there will be more hatred for Hitler after the urchins read O’Reilly’s new book. “Wise up” as O’Reilly is fond of saying.

  1. This book must be for 7-8th graders! I picked it up at my local library based on the title and the cover picture butlearned absolutely nothing new! Pictures are good. Don’t recommend it for adults. Read it in about 30 minutes. Very disappointed.

  2. Bill O’Reilly forgot to mention that the 60 million dead includes 15 million Chinese. Hitler had nothing to do with those deaths, China and Japan’s war started in 1937. Hitler also had nothing to do with Japanese casualties which total about 2.5 million.
Apparently O’Reilly forgot about other dictators, like Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Kim Il Jung and Pol Pot also killed millions of their own citizens.
While I am not a fan of Adolph Hitler I reject the notion he was the most evil man in the history of mankind. There are others who also did terrible things in the name of race/ideology etc. People need to learn about others who, for whatever motives, caused the death of millions of innocents.
As for Killing Patton, it was OK. I learned some new things about Patton and it was a quick read. Nothing really stood out about it. I suppose it’s a decent introduction for those who want to know some things about Patton. It did have some interesting information about the SS officer Peiper.

      • Thanks.

It only had one link. And it never happened before — the behavior is new/recent.

  4. The full externination of Jews was a jey point of Nazi doctrine and policy. But we ought to remember the milions of German, Polish French, British, USA, etc. soldiers dead on battle fieldsm, the many civilians victims of the “total war” on all sides so as the many invalides. The WWII had been a great tragedy due mainly to the will of Hitler. But we must consider that WWII had been the result of the foolish Versailles treaty which brought to the economical and social conditions which led to Hitler’s rise to power.

    • The word that the Germans used was “ausrotten,” which has been translated into the word “extermination.” Other people translate this word as “get rid of.”

You wrote: “But we must consider that WWII had been the result of the foolish Versailles treaty which brought to the economical and social conditions which led to Hitler’s rise to power.”

You are exactly right. I wrote about this on my blog post today.

    • “The WWII had been a great tragedy due mainly to the will of Hitler. “. Or perhaps, the will of the Jews, who, as always, couldn’t stop meddling and destroyed a nation and a people attempting to free itself from their greasy clutches.

Of course, then as now the collateral damage was immaterial; all that mattered was “is it good for the Jews?” And on balance, WW 2 was very good for the Jews.

And also destroyed the British White Paper of 1939, or MacDonald White Paper, which was guaranteeing that there would never be any Jewish State in Palestine. The MacDonald White Paper was a real death sentence for Zionism, so compelling Zionist Jewry to “overthrow the world”* if Zionism was to be successful. The British White Paper planned the departure of the British from their unworkable Palestine Mandate after 10 years and the establishment of an Arab-dominated state in entire Palestine before April 1949. It seemed in mid-1939 that Jewry would never have a country of their own and that the 5 decades of Zionist work in Palestine (even longer if Edmond de Rothschild’s pre-Herzlian Jewish settlements in Palestine are taken into account) would finally go to waste once and for all. Unless the MacDonald White Paper could be cancelled before its deadline. That’s what WW2 and the Holohoax brought. The Zionists could therefore come back at the bargaining table and get a Zionist state in Palestine by making concessions and finally agreeing on the partition of Palestine (categorically refused during the 1936-1939 debates about the future of Palestine). IMO, that was the main reason for the Zionist leaders of that time to maneuver** and drag Britain into another major war on Germany. I think that the main target of the Zionist warmongers and plotters was in fact Britain, and especially her current Palestine Policy, not Nazi Germany.

        * “We reached the [Balfour] Declaration not by miracles, but through persistent propaganda, through unceasing demonstration of the life force of our people. We told the responsible authorities: We will establish ourselves in Palestine whether you like it or not. You can hasten our arrival or you can equally retard it. It is however better for you to help us so as to avoid our constructive powers being turned into a destructive power which will overthrow the world.” – Zionist leader Chaim Weizmann, speech in Jerusalem, December 1919.

** “There is only one power which really counts. The power of political pressure. We Jews are the most powerful people on earth, because we have this power, and we know how to apply it.” – Zionist leader Vladimir Jabotinsky in Jewish Daily Bulletin (July 27, 1935).

      • Well except for the whole, getting tossed into ghettos, shot over pits, gassed at Treblinka, Sobibor, Belzec, Chelmno, Majdanek and Birkenau, used as slave labor and forced on death marches….you’re right, WW2 was great for Jews. Oh, I forgot to mention the fact that surviving Eastern Jews lost most of their property and money. We also can’t forget the physical and psychological damage suffered by survivors. We need to rename WW2 happy joy time for Jews.

    • I also think we need to consider the effect the Great Depression had on the rise of Hitler. Before 1929 the Nazi party was very much a fringe party. After 1929 the economic chaos combined with fears of a Communist take over helped increase Nazi/Hitler popularity to the point where Hitler appeared as a viable solution to Right Wing Conservatives like Von Papen. Also, while the Nazi was the largest party in Germany the highest % of the vote it received was 37%. The Social Democrats and Communists made up the largest % of the vote after that but those two parties refused to cooperate with each to the extent they could not keep Hitler out of the government.

  5. We hate Hitler. The Germans liked Hitler (of course, he WAS one, too).

    So we hate Germans. Right?
