I neglected to write about the anniversary of Kristallnacht this year

Today I read a news article about Kristallnacht here: http://www.algemeiner.com/2015/11/20/the-sounds-of-broken-glass-reflections-on-kristallnacht-and-israel/#

The photo shown below accompanies the news article

Damage done on Kristallnacht

November 9th is a very important date in history, which is commemorated each year by the Jews.  I have written several blog posts about Kristallnacht which you can read here: https://furtherglory.wordpress.com/tag/kristallnacht/

Strangely, the press never tells you about the reason why the Nazis perpetrated Kristallnacht.

I explained the reason for Kristallnacht in this previous blog post:  https://furtherglory.wordpress.com/2014/10/07/the-famous-jewish-boycott-of-german-goods-in-march-1933/

This quote is from the news article:

On Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1938, the Nazi SS paramilitary forces, aided by German civilians, unleashed a pogrom against the Jews of Berlin, Vienna, Prague, and cities across the heart of Europe. They dragged Torah scrolls through the streets; torched more than 1,000 synagogues; vandalized Jewish homes, businesses and cemeteries; and murdered nearly 100 Jews.

As fires raged and glass was shattered, local firefighters, policemen, and neighbors stood by and did nothing. During those two nights, as many as 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and deported to concentration camps. Those who were left were forced to wear a yellow star with the word “Jude” — Jew — sewn onto their clothing.

This pogrom specifically, and the Holocaust in general, could not have taken place without the preparation of hearts and minds of these people to tolerate the cruelty against their neighbors. Kristallnacht symbolized then, and now, how anti-Jewish legislation and antisemitic rhetoric lead to violence. It reminds us that the Holocaust began not with gas chambers, but with words. This lesson has important implications today.

What occurred on those nights in November was about more than broken glass. It was a warning. The rise of Nazi Germany had ushered in a new dark era of inhumanity and barbarity. The day after Kristallnacht, The New York Times declared, “No man can look on the scenes witnessed yesterday without shame for the degradation of his species.” Time magazine proclaimed, “The civilized world stands revolted by a bloody pogrom against a defenseless people.” And yet, the rest of the world did heartbreakingly little to stop what was already unfolding for European Jewry.

I did a search on Kristallnacht to make sure that I remembered the story correctly.  I found this at http://www.history.com/topics/kristallnacht

On November 9 to November 10, 1938, in an incident known as “Kristallnacht”, Nazis in Germany torched synagogues, vandalized Jewish homes, schools and businesses and killed close to 100 Jews. In the aftermath of Kristallnacht, also called the “Night of Broken Glass,” some 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and sent to Nazi concentration camps. German Jews had been subjected to repressive policies since 1933, when Nazi Party leader Adolf Hitler (1889-1945) became chancellor of Germany. However, prior to Kristallnacht, these Nazi policies had been primarily nonviolent. After Kristallnacht, conditions for German Jews grew increasingly worse. During World War II (1939-45), Hitler and the Nazis implemented their so-called “Final Solution” to the what they referred to as the “Jewish problem,” and carried out the systematic murder of some 6 million European Jews in what came to be known as the Holocaust.

Bad Nazis! They turned on the Jews for no reason and the result was the Holocaust.  Once again — read why the Nazis turned on the Jews:  https://furtherglory.wordpress.com/2014/10/07/the-famous-jewish-boycott-of-german-goods-in-march-1933/

This quote is from the news article:

Remembering Kristallnacht means understanding that the demonization of a people leads to the dehumanization of a people, and finally, to the destruction of a people. Remembering Kristallnacht means ensuring that, in the face of evil against fellow human beings, it is never acceptable for silence to be an option, indifference a strategy, or “never again” a mere slogan.

Finally, remembering Kristallnacht means deciding whether we will be remembered by our descendants as protectors of peace and human rights, or as bystanders to the most grievous crimes against our humanity. We must all ask ourselves whether we are doing enough to raise our voices and take action against the increasing violence around the world that is fueled by hatred.

When will the Jews learn that treating the goyim like scum has consequences?

TIME manages to ignore the millions barbarically killed by the Soviets before and after Hitler became Chancellor.

    • Some people refer to the newspaper, that you mentioned, as “The Jew York Times.” At that time, newspapers were supposed to mention both sides of a story. The Jew York Times should have reported on WHY Kristallnacht happened.

You mean because a young Jew named Herschel Grynzspan couldn’t stand seeing his parents forcibly deported OUT of the [alleged] Nazi Hell (according to that time’s depiction of it in Zionist atrocity propaganda) – returned to their native Poland just before the Polish state could implement a definitive border closure for the Jewish exiles – during the German Polenaktion of October 1938? I can understand why the Jew York times and the other newspapers always ‘omit’ to mention that part. Quite embarrassing for the orthodox narrative, isn’t it?

  2. Most Jews know very well to treat Gentiles kindly and with respect, and do so unfailingly. Some Jews do otherwise. The problem gets more-serious when Jews of the first type defend and exonerate the behavior of Jews of the second type.

And why has “Wolf Murnelstein” so-subtly changed his name? I’ve seen that trick somewhere before . . .

  3. “1,000 synagogues torched; 100 Jews murdered; 30,000 arrested and taken to concentration camps”.

But where exactly have these numbers for Kristallnacht come from anyway. Are they contemporary official German figures, or have they been plucked out of thin air by some alcohol-addled hacks who were employed by the wretched “New York Times”.

You see, that’s the trouble with all these holocaust numbers, we don’t really know if they have been heavily exaggerated for propaganda purposes. I always find a good yard-stick to use here, is to divide the number by 10, and then you “are in the ball-park” as it were.

For instance, the overall total of 6 million can be safely reduced to 600,000 Jewish people who perished during WW2.

So, for Kristalnacht; the 1,000 synagogues can be reduced to around 100, of which well over half of them were probably disused anyway because so many Jews had already left Germany by 1938. The 100 Jews murdered is more like a dozen unfortunate victims who found themselves caught up in the violence for one reason or another. The 30,000 arrests is more likely to be around 3,000 people who were taken into protective custody for political, social and criminal activities. And it would seem that most of the Jewish prisoners among them were released soon afterwards anyway.

In WWI more than 10000 . ten thousand – German Jews lost their life on the battlefield, Many Jewish soldiers earned high decoration – even the Ifon Cross. And many returned as invalides. As stated by Sacht in his memories the Aryan controlled Heavy Industry – steel, chenicalsm etc. – had not been properlyt taxed on war profits. Publishinf similar tales the Palestinians simply show to be anti Semite of Semite race.

        • Don’t forget, Hitler received his Iron Cross, First Class on the recommendation of a Jewish officer.
          I find that extremely ironic.
A boycott didn’t cause Kristillnacht, what caused it was Grynzspan, a young Jewish Pole whose parents were expelled from Germany, shooting Vom Rath, a German Diplomat attached to the diplomatic party in Paris. Another historic irony is that Vom Rath did not share the psychotic anti-Semtism of the Nazi Party and in fact was due to be recalled.
This assassination gave Hitler and Goebbel the excuse they needed to launch a pogrom against the Jews in Germany.

          • You must have gotten your information about Grynzspan from Wikipedia, which says this:
            Begin quote:
Herschel Feibel Grynszpan (German: Hermann Grünspan) (28 March 1921 — last known to be alive 1942, declared dead 1960) was a Polish-Jewish refugee, born in Germany. His assassination of the Nazi[1] German diplomat Ernst vom Rath on 7 November 1938 in Paris provided the Nazis with the pretext for the Kristallnacht, the antisemitic pogrom of 9–10 November 1938. Grynszpan was seized by the Gestapo after the German invasion of France and brought to Germany.

Grynszpan’s fate is unknown. However, he most probably did not survive World War II.[2]
            End quote

I wrote about him on my website at http://www.scrapbookpages.com/Sachsenhausen/MemorialSite/JewishMuseum.html

This quote is from my website:
The [Sachsenhausen] Museum is exceptionally well designed; it is the work of Stuttgart architect, Professor H. G. Marz. The exhibits are arranged in four chronological segments, which document the story of the Jews in Sachsenhausen between 1936 and 1945 through 74 biographical accounts. The museum is in two tiers with the basement level devoted to the war years and the Nazi escalation of the persecution of the Jews.

One of the persons featured [in the Museum] is Herschel Grynszpan, a 17 year old youth who escaped to Paris during the early persecution of the Jews in Germany. His family was deported back to Poland in October 1938 along with thousands of Polish Jews who were not German citizens. The Polish government would only accept 10,000 of them and the rest had to live for months in a camp on the border between Poland and Germany until their fate could be decided. When Herschel received a letter from his sister about the miserable conditions in the camp, he decided to murder Ernst vom Rath, a Nazi official in the German Embassy in Paris to draw world attention to the plight of the refugees, since no other country had offered to take them. When vom Rath died three days after he was shot, a pogrom ensued in which 91 Jews were killed and virtually every Jewish shop and synagogue was damaged. The museum display notes that Herschel was never put on trial, and after the war his family declared him officially dead because he had disappeared.

Allegations emerged that vom Rath was a homosexual, and Goebbels learned that Grynszpan was intending to use this claim in his defence at the trial by implying that vom Rath had seduced him. Grynszpan planned to claim that vom Rath was his pimp and he had been sent to be with various diplomats (although Grynszpan later stated this to be false in an encrypted letter sent from Sachsenhausen). The homosexuality accusations threatened to humiliate the Nazis. Goebbels wrote that “Grynszpan has invented the insolent argument that he had a homosexual relationship with… vom Rath. That is, of course, a shameless lie; however it is thought out very cleverly and would, if brought out in the course of a public trial, certainly become the main argument of enemy propaganda.”Whether or not vom Rath was homosexual is not known; the French writer André Gide, himself a homosexual, testified in his personal diaries that vom Rath was well known in the Parisian homosexual community. There were rumours that occasionally he was called “Madame Ambassador” and “Notre Dame de Paris.” His brother, Gustav, was convicted of homosexual offences and there were allegations that vom Rath was treated for rectal gonorrhoea at the Berlin Institute of Radiology.

As you can see numbers of estimated dead fluctuate to some degree but most agree between 5-6 million.
Only deniers who don’t know better fixate on the 6 million number like some kind of totem. The reality is that these numbers shift depending on the researcher.
I have no idea what was on the original plaque at Chelmno or Majdanek but I do know what the original plaque said at Auschwitz. It said 4 million people, not Jews. Again, deniers who don’t better fixate on the whole “4 million” number and assume it means Jews.
                I don’t know about you but I spell Jews J E W S and I spell people P E O P L E.
The two do not mean the same thing. Jews are people but people are not automatically Jews. See the difference?

                • Whether or not the alleged victims are defined as JEWS or PEOPLE, the Auschwitz custodians have never given us an explanation as to why they got the initial count so wrong; and also how their present calculation was arrived at. In the circumstances, therefore, I feel that your accusation of “weird math” should really be aimed at them.

                  Comment by Talbot — November 21, 2015 @ 8:05 pm

              • Actually I explained it to you.
The Soviets arrived at that number based on the assumption that transports arrived everyday. This is not correct, of course.
There was no inclination for the Soviets or Poles to change the amount and they also downplayed the fact that most of the victims were Jewish. They did this for a few different reasons:
                1) It fit their ideology better. The Communists played up the fact that one of Auschwitz’s functions was a labor camp that chewed up its workers, a sort of rampant capitalistic enterprise. Of course that’s nonsense but that’s Communism for you.
                2) They wanted to downplay the fact that a majority of the victims were Jews in order to foster a sense of comraderie in the struggle against the Fascists.
                3) Finally, both Poland and the Soviet Union were historically anti-Semetic.

As far as the number of Jews killed, Hoess originally said around 2.5 million Jews died there but he was basing this on what Eichman told him. Later Hoess said 1.1 million Jews died there.
Again, a lot of the numbers are based upon what researcher you read but all seem to agree around 1 million Jews died there.

Always happy to help out. My suggestion is that you read that Van Pelt link I sent you, he also explains a lot of this.

                Comment by HCW — November 21, 2015 @ 8:50 pm

                • Oh, I see – the original 4 million number was just an assumption done purely for ideological reasons – it was not based on any fact-based calculation. So when the political situation changes then all these previous assumptions go out the window, to be replaced by another set of assumptions that fit in better with the new ideological arrangements.

You say “a lot of the numbers are based upon what researcher you read, but all seem to agree around 1 million died there”. But here we go again – every researcher seems to employ his own weird math ( that’s if they employ any arithmetic at all! )

And if Rudolf Hoess made such wildly different claims for these totals – then shouldn’t we just dismiss his numbers altogether?

You suggest that I read “the Van Pelt link”. But what is the point of reading the views of an architectural historian, when you want to find out how many people perished in a wartime labour camp. This would be like asking the girl at the supermarket check-out desk if she knows how many cans of baked beans are stored at the company’s central warehouse depot.

                  Comment by Talbot — November 22, 2015 @ 9:46 am

              • Let’s see.
First you say the numbers stay the same, it’s always 6 million.
I then showed you that the numbers have changed depending on the researcher.
You wanted to know why the numbers changed at Auschwitz. I explained it. I’ve also said previously that those that actually researched the matter concluded that 4 million did not die at Auschwitz even while the Communists were in power.
As far as how researchers came up with the number of dead is based upon different ways the number is calculated. Van Pelt used an example that one researcher looked at the number of transports VS. the number of prisoners actually registered into the camps. Those killed right away were never registered into the camp. Using this methodology this researcher came up with 1.1 million. There are other ways of researching.
As far as Hoess, he said he got the number from Eichman (2.5 million) but that he believed the number was 1.5
                million.
Things change as more information comes to light as documents are declassified or new avenues of research open up. An example of this is when the Soviet Union fell their archives opened up to researchers.
History does not work as an “all or nothing” argument. It doesn’t have a time limit like a football game. Do you think we know everything there is to know about the Cold War? Or Vietnam? Or the events that just happened in France?

                Comment by HCW — November 22, 2015 @ 10:31 am

                • You say “those killed right away were never registered into the camp”. Well, if they weren’t registered, and no physical evidence has ever been produced of their human remains – then how do we know that they existed in the first place. And even if they did exist, then how can we know with any certainty that they arrived at Auschwitz – they may have been taken to another destination.

So, without any record of these peoples existence, then how can anyone – let alone the learned and saintly Mr Van Pelt – arrive at any credible total for the numbers who were allegedly killed at Auschwitz. All these totals must be regarded as pure speculation.

                  Comment by Talbot — November 22, 2015 @ 11:58 am

              • So, the people on the transports, what happened to them? Are we to assume the Nazis sent them merrily careening about the countryside on some sort of holiday? Or sent them to non-existent labor or settlement camps in the East? Millions of men, women and children, unaccounted for in a war zone where food, shelter and medication were in short supply?
                Please.
deniers make a big deal about the Soviets using Majdanek as a propaganda tool, imagine the propaganda value of a dozen Majdaneks on Soviet soil, ripe to be exploited for Soviet gain, filled with millions of starving men, women and children.
Where did the Germans get the materials to build such an infrastructure of supposed labor/settlement camps? Such an idea is ridiculous, Majdanek was barely utilized.

The truth is that German Jews before WW I were highly assimilated and many Jews fought with distinction. The German High Command secretly conducted a study to determine if Jews were malingering and not fighting. What they found was the percentage of Jews in the army matched the population percentage of Jews as a whole and that the Jews fighting were dying at the same rate as the Gentiles.

        Comment by HCW — November 21, 2015 @ 9:10 pm

    • Dr.Murmelstein
The 9th November 1938 was the tenth anniversary of Hitler’s march from the Bürgerbräukeller in Munich, which was stopped by the Bavarian Landespolizei at the Feldherrnhalle and he and his associates jailed later at Landsberg. It has nothing to do with the signing of the Armistice in 1918 which took place on the 11th November at 11 o’clock in a railway carriage at Compiègne.
During the second WW, Hitler dictated that the French capitulation take place at Compiegne, a forest north of Paris. This is the same spot where twenty-two years earlier the Germans had signed the Armistice ending World War I. Hitler intended to disgrace the French and avenge the German defeat. To further deepen the humiliation, he orders that the signing ceremony take place in the same rail-road car that hosted the earlier surrender.
Kristallnacht – the Night of the Broken Glass – was the Nazi government’s response to the murder, on November 7th 1938, in Paris of Ernst von Rath, a diplomat in the German embassy in Paris. Von Rath was murdered by Herschel Grynszpan, a young Jew and the Nazis used this as the excuse they needed in Nazi Germany to unleash a night of violence against the whole of the Jewish community within Germany.
I was at the time 10 years old and distinctly remember my parents forbade my brother aged 15 NOT to take part (and stay home) in the destruction that took place, in particular setting the beards of Orthodox Jews alight.

  5. “Bad Nazis! They turned on the Jews for no reason…” So to you, violence, destruction, and murder indiscriminately against people because of their religion is “explained” by the “reason” that SOME people of that religion were urging a BOYCOTT?? No less than against goods made by a party that was organizing violence, destruction, and murder against them? And this boycott against goods made by this murderous regime was “treating the goyim like scum?” You are a very sick, disturbed man to suggest that any boycott, much less against goods produced by a regime plotting indiscriminate violence and murder, would ever remotely be a “reason” to commence violence and murder, no less against people of a religion or race indiscriminately.

    • You wrote: “SOME people of that religion [Jews} were urging a BOYCOTT?”

The Jews were doing more than “urging a Boycott”. They were DOING a boycott.

Let’s go to Wikipedia to get the truth: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Nazi_boycott_of_1933

      Begin quote from Wikipedia:

In a contentious four-hour meeting held at the Hotel Astor in New York City on March 20, 1933, 1,500 representatives of various Jewish organizations met to consider a proposal by the AJCongress to hold a protest meeting at Madison Square Garden on March 27, 1933, as an additional 1,000 people attempting to enter the meeting were held back by police. New York Supreme Court Justice Joseph M. Proskauer and James N. Rosenberg spoke out against a proposed boycott of German goods that had been introduced by J. George Freedman of the Jewish War Veterans. Proskauer expressed his concerns against “causing more trouble for the Jews in Germany by unintelligent action”, protesting against plans for mass meetings and reading a letter from Judge Irving Lehman that warned that “the meeting may add to the terrible dangers of the Jews in Germany”. Honorary president Rabbi Stephen Samuel Wise delivered a rejoinder to Proskauer and Rosenberg, criticizing their failure to attend previous AJCongress meetings and insisting that “no attention would be paid to the edict” if mass protests had been rejected by the group. Wise noted that “The time for prudence and caution is past. We must speak up like men. How can we ask our Christian friends to lift their voices in protest against the wrongs suffered by Jews if we keep silent? … What is happening in Germany today may happen tomorrow in any other land on earth unless its is challenged and rebuked. It is not the German Jews who are being attacked. It is the Jews.” The group voted to go ahead with the meeting at Madison Square Garden.[4][5]

In a meeting held at the Hotel Knickerbocker on March 21 by the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America, former congressman William W. Cohen advocated in support of a strict boycott of German goods, stating that “Any Jew buying one penny’s worth of merchandise made in Germany is a traitor to his people.” The Jewish War Veterans planned a protest march in Manhattan from Cooper Square to New York City Hall, in which 20,000 would participate, including Jewish veterans in uniform, with no banners or placards allowed other than American and Jewish flags.[6]

      End quote

So it seems that Kristallnacht was indeed provoked by the Jews who were, in fact, boycotting German goods.

      • I repeat: The Kristallnacht occured at the twenthiet aniversary of German surrender in WWI.

      • The Nazis took their sweet time about it considering this boycott was organized in 1933 and Kristillnacht took place in 1938.

      • How exactly would this change anything – even if every single Jew was part of the boycott (which obviously they were not, and many German Jews were far more secularized than involved in reigious groups), this to you would render acceptable rampant destruction and assault?

        Comment by Halli — November 22, 2015 @ 12:10 am

        • It doesn’t change anything for me. I’m well aware that German Jews were assimilated into Germany. A great many of them were patriotic and nationalist. Many of them fought with distinction in WW I and Hitler even received his Iron Cross, First Class on the recommendation of his Jewish officer.
I myself don’t see the link between Kristallnacht and a Jewish Boycott organized five years previously. Then again, I don’t believe in the whole “Stab in the back” mythology cooked up after the war and I also don’t believe in some invisible Jewish Junta that allegedly directs events behind the scenes. There is no justification for the violence inflicted on the innocent Jewish population after Vom Rath’s assassination. Hitler and Goebbels used VR’s assassination as an excuse to give vent to their anti-Semetism.
I also accept the Holocaust as a historical fact.
I wanted to clear this up so that you understand my point of view.

    • I would substitute “person” for “man.”
