This famous photo is being used to illustrate a recent news article about the Jews killed in the Holocaust

I wrote about the photo above in this previous blog post:

The following quote is from a news article, which uses the photo above:

Begin quote

The soldiers in the First World War knew they might die and were encouraged to write letters to their loved ones, which were only delivered in the event of their death.

Such closure was denied the Jews, cruelly separated on arrival at Auschwitz and sent to the gas chambers thinking they were merely having a shower.

Thousands, like my grandfather Armin Klein, were picked up away from their loved ones with no opportunity to express their feelings or say goodbye – their families were left wondering what had happened.
I want people to understand what the Holocaust was really like and I hope I have achieved that. The ripples created by the Holocaust pebble in the world’s pond still undulate. They probably always will, while Yad Vashem receives 4,000 books on the Holocaust each year.

The betrayal of the Jews by the Nazis was so severe that a whole raft of international law came into force after 1945. However, the occurrence of the Holocaust does not mean that appropriate international law did not exist.

The pre-1945 international laws were perfectly adequate to protect everyone from the horrors of the Holocaust – the Nazis just chose to ignore them, as subsequent genocides have ignored the new legislation.

The Jews were told complete and deliberate lies about their future and destinations, what they could take with them, what would happen to them and their families.

End quote

But it gets worse.  The article continues with the story of what happened at Treblinka:

Begin quote

Even at the very end, when they were told they were going for a shower – in Treblinka, the gas chambers were disguised as traditional Jewish bathhouses with roof tiles made by a manufacturer whose trademark was identical to the Star of David, apparently called a ‘Molette d’eperon’.

The forensic archaeologist who worked at Treblinka told me: “I did find multiple tiles like this at Treblinka, some still cemented to foundations.” The star is not actually the star of David, as it turns out, but rather an emblem of a Polish tile manufacturer. Without a doubt, though, the Nazis modelled the gas chamber on a Jewish bathhouse and these same tiles can be found in other Jewish bathhouses throughout Poland.

I consider the lies that were told to Jews throughout their persecution to be an overwhelming betrayal.

The failure to tell people they were about to be killed is unforgiveable because the Jews were entitled to know their lives were about to be ended so they could prepare themselves and, where possible, say their goodbyes.

End quote

It is hard to believe how cruel the Nazis were, not even allowing the Jews to write a final letter before they were killed.  I wrote about Treblinka on my website at

  1. The soldier with the gun was JOSEF BLÖSCHE. He died in 1969 in Leipzig/GDR (former Russian occupied zone of Germany).
About the boy’s identity there are doubts.
    Google it.
Everybody who is narrow minded enough to deny the existence of gas chambers throughout WW2?and the Holocaust may come over to Germany and study the history HERE. There are still witnesses w.

There were NO homicidal gas chambers period! Please show me one? You can’t! So to make such a statement shows how close and narrow minded and off the mark you are.

  2. Four thousand books a year delivered to Yad Vashem. My goodness me – so there is still lots of money to be made out of holocaustianity then!. I hope these inspired works of literature include plenty of horror and pathos, otherwise they will make very dull reading indeed. But the question is;- does Yad Vashem have a large enough library space to house all these fictional, and heavily exaggerated volumes. Surely the time will come when it supersedes the ancient Library of Alexandria in size.

    • TALBOT. I can only laugh. Do You understand at last my evaluation about market condition?

      Comment by Wolf Murmelstein — January 31, 2016 @ 12:48 pm

      • Yes, Dr, Murmelstein, I must confess – your father’s manuscript will have to compete with all these books. And the only way of doing that would be to cram it full of unbelievable horror tales. But to your credit, you won’t conceive of doing this – and good for you! But nevertheless, you should seriously take the advice of commentators on this website and try and find a publisher, because there are many serious historians and other readers who want a more factual, and realistic account of that traumatic period of the 20th century.

        Comment by Talbot — January 31, 2016 @ 2:05 pm

        • The fact that Wolf was a CHILD at Theresienstadt would make his father’s book more interesting to today’s readers. If published, this book would probably be included in classroom instruction in America.

          Comment by furtherglory — January 31, 2016 @ 3:01 pm

          • Hopefully in Wolfes book there are not all the Disneyland horror stories that didn’t happen.

            Comment by jrizoli — January 31, 2016 @ 3:11 pm

            • Wolf believes that there was a homicidal gas chamber at Theresienstadt. His father might have believed this too. In this case the book would be interesting because readers could argue about this.

              • Can’t wait to see how he pulls that all together.
An invisible gas chamber who knew?

                Comment by jrizoli — January 31, 2016 @ 3:30 pm

                • Obviously there were no gas chambers anywhere in Europe during WW2, But Wolf Murmelstein ( and probably his father too) both truly believed that a “homicidal gas chamber” was in the process of being built inside the town walls of the Theresienstadt ghetto during the last few weeks of the war. (Wolf claims that it was never completed, after the ghetto commander ordered all work on it to cease.)

It is not possible for us today to persuade Doctor Murmelstein that no such facilities ever existed, or were ever planned. This story forms part of his reality that he has accepted as true ever since 1945. The rumours, hearsay, uncertainties and lurid tales about “gassings and “exterminations” that undoubtedly abounded inside the ghetto during those final weeks have been thoroughly absorbed into his mind, and then confirmed after the war by the official narrative ( as laid down by the victorious Allies, in collusion with organised Jewry ).

But regardless of what the Murmelsteins both believe, the book is an essential historical record – and we really must implore Wolf to find some way of publishing the manuscript.

                • If he wants to put that on paper thats up to him but he’s going to look like a fool if he does.

  3. Nazi cruelty had been tricky and therefore even worse than reported in the many books or speeches. We ought to consider the deep roots of the hatred against Jews. The early German Romanticism needed an internal enemy: so the Jews had been target of more and more hatred. Extermination of Jews by forced labor had been proposed already in the twenties of XIX century.
Interesting the remark about the many books Yad Vashem is receiving every year.

  4. One can’t help having a wry smile at the way these holocausters operate! The writer of the above piece has obviously seen the TV documentary of Treblinka by the Archaeologist Caroline Sturdy-Colls, in which she alleges that she found some old tiles at the site. The writer is well aware of the controversy surrounding Caroline’s absurd claim that they were embossed with a ‘Star of David’, and so he has decided to accept the debunkers analysis that the tiles are really a trademark from a local Polish brick manufacturer. But he has then gone on say (without producing any evidence) that these tiles are similar to those used in Jewish bath-houses used throughout pre-war Poland.

So in his view, this proves that the Nazis designed their “gas chamber” in order to deceive the Jews into thinking they were inside a normal bath-house. What a clever piece of trickery here. The tiles have been totally debunked, but by sleight-of-hand the holocauster has managed to salvage the discredited evidence, and use it to confirm that “homicidal gas chambers” did really exist at Treblinka – Marvellous!

    • The “pierced mullet” heraldic device that resembles a Jewish star is a stylized rendition of a ROWEL – the pointy circular device on the back of a spur that rolls across the horse’s flanks when the rider wishes more speed from the horse. Rowels – which roll – DO all have holes in their centers for their axles.

Since this trademark was on the BACKS of the tiles, they were NOT visible to anyone viewing them in an installed state. What they saw was (only) the FRONTS of the tiles.

      • this trademark was on the BACKS of the tiles

Thanks for pointing this out — it makes the whole “Without a doubt…” nonsense even more obviously absurd.

  5. Without a doubt

Yes, “without a doubt”. It’s interesting how some Jews will grasp at a straw and build a ‘Holocaust’ hay bale out of it.

the Nazis modelled the gas chamber on a Jewish bathhouse

Of course there’s absolutely no evidence the tile(s) came from a gas chamber, or that the Nazis deliberately made a gas chamber look like a “Jewish bathhouse” (whatever those looked like) in order to “cruelly” fool Jews. Yet all of that is “without a doubt” true. And if you deny that it’s true too vigorously, you could be subject to criminal sanction in in 14 European nations.

    • Wikipedia should update its page to show that Holocaust denial is now a crime in 19 countries, not 14.

      • Use to be 18 Countries but the Jews have a way of getting things done. They won’t be happy until the whole world bans Holocaust denial.

      • 19 countries, not 14

As I wrote, in Wikipedia it says “14 European nations” — note: “European” — indeed, it may be, as you suggest, illegal in 19 countries worldwide — but I specifically quoted the part about countries in Europe (which I presume is accurate).

        it’s page

You want its here, not “it’s” — it’s is a contraction for it is — let’s try your phrase with it is — Wikipedia should update it is page — as you can see, that does not make sense — so you want its here, which is the possessive form — Wikipedia should update its page — I have corrected this mistake in your writing more than once before — perhaps you should make a note of it.
