Historian Jan Tomasz Gross is back in the news as Poland seeks to change history

You can read the latest news about historian Jan Tomasz Gross at

I learned about Jan Tomasz Gross on my first trip to Poland in 1998. My Polish tour guide told me the story of Jewabne and the killing of the Jews by the Poles. Now the Poles want to deny this and blame it all on the Germans. What a revolting development this is!

I have written two previous blog posts about Jan Tomasz Gross which you can read here:

and here:

The following quote is from the news article:

Begin quote

Historian Jan Tomasz Gross, who has been censured by the Poland’s ruling Law and Justice Party for highlighting the role some Poles played in perpetrating the Holocaust, has warned that the [Polish] government is looking to take its whitewash of history into the country’s classrooms.

Mr Gross, who discovered two weeks ago that the government was considering withdrawing an Order of Merit awarded to him in 1996 by the then president, Aleksander Kwasniewski, for his research into the Holocaust and Polish-Jewish relations, said: “The current regime in Poland is nationalist, xenophobic, and authoritarian.”

“It openly states that it will enforce a political agenda with respect to teaching and commemorating Polish history.”

Mr Gross said his claim last year that the Poles murdered more Jews than Nazis in Poland during the Second World War, as well as his documentation of the role of Poles in massacres of Jews during the Holocaust, had set the Law and Justice Party against him.

Mr Gross said that the Polish prosecutor’s office had been urged to investigate the Project Syndicate article by a variety of nationalist organisations and politicians.

The probe could lead [to] Mr Gross being indicted on the charge of slandering the Polish nation.

I am showing my photos, taken on my trip to Poland in 1998, because I was completely flabbergasted by how backward the country of Poland was. This latest news about the Poles leads me to believe that the Polish people are still backward.

  1. Jewabne was a reprisal massacre for the treachery of the Jews who sided with and assisted the Soviets when they invaded Poland and carved the country up. The (primarily Jewish staffed) Soviet secret police (Checka) tortured, slaughtered and worked Christian Poles to death in their slave economy gulag system behind the Urals. The Jews of Jewnabe and Jews across East Europe and the Baltics greeted the Soviet Army as liberators. When the Nazis marched in and drove them out it was payback time for those lice infested traitors. Jan Gross kvetches about the Polish Law and Justice Party’s whitewashing of history while he and his co-religionists in the USA and Europe pass laws against any open debate on the Holocaust and criticism of Israel. They lobby to flood the West with ever more Third World refugees and economic migrants to burden and break economies and contaminate the White gene pool. Jan Thomaz Gross has carved out a nice little career for himself in American academia slandering Poles and incessant whinging about the Jews of Jebwabne. He’s like that other precision placed Ivy League Holocaust carnival barker Daniel Goldhagen. Talk about a couple of free speech and free historical inquiry hypocrites! Jewbwabne…Boo hoo.

  2. From 1934 to 1938 Poland half fascist goverment had a good relationship with Nazi Germany; no in the Polish politcal class had read the Mein Kampf. So many German nazi “researchers” visited Poland in order to learn how to subdue this country. On the other hand the Polish nation has the highest number of RIGHTEOUS GENTILES at Yad Vashem, The statement of Mr Gross that in Poland the Poles killed more Jews than the Germans is – when reported in right way – simple stupid and absurd as only German organization could perform the industrialized mass murder – extermination – in the Death Camps and then destruct the remains of the murder factories.

  3. That’s why we have polish jokes. The poles are bass ackwards. I’m surprised they were smart enough to put 2 and 2 together and say,”hey,as long as there are still nazis around,we can blame them and not get a single scratch.
