Should Holocaust denial be a crime? Debra Lipstadt says “No”

Filed under: David Irving, Germany, Holocaust, Uncategorized — Tags: , , — furtherglory @ 9:45 am

According to Wikipedia, Holocaust denial is against the law in 14 European countries:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laws_against_Holocaust_denial

In this recent news story, Deborah Lipstadt explains why Holocaust denial should not be against the law:  http://forward.com/the-assimilator/333780/deborah-lipstadt-explains-why-holocaust-denial-shouldnt-be-a-crime/?attribution=blog-article-related-1-headline

Holocaust historian Deborah Lipstadt slammed leaders of the Claims Conference, but predicted no one will be held accountable for dropping the ball on a $57 million fraud case

Holocaust historian Deborah Lipstadt slammed leaders of the Claims Conference, but predicted no one will be held accountable for dropping the ball on a $57 million fraud case

The following quote is from the news article, cited above:

Begin quote

Famous Holocaust historian Deborah Lipstadt opposed criminalization of Holocaust denial in a debate at the Oxford Union Society last month, which is shown in the video below. Even after years of fighting a libel suit filed against her in 1996 by Holocaust denier David Irving, Lipstadt says she is not in favor of laws against Holocaust denial.

“I support this motion Mr. President, because I am convinced that freedom of speech means nothing unless it includes the freedom for offensive people to be offensive,” she says. “We who are offended by them, must accept that, as a cost of living in a free society.”

In the video, she details her strong opinions on freedom of speech and why Holocaust criminalization will not benefit the cause against Holocaust deniers.

End quote

Now that I have permission from Deborah Lipstadt, I will continue to deny the Holocaust.

The name Lipstadt is the name of the town in Germany, from which Deborah’s ancestors came. My German ancestors came from a town in Germany that was only a few miles from the town of Lipstadt, but Deborah and I are world’s apart in our thinking.

I have met David Irving twice and have heard him speak on each occasion. Sadly, Irving is now only a shadow of his former self, and can no longer defend himself against people like Deborah Lipstadt.

  1. “she details why Holocaust criminalization will not benefit the cause against Holocaust deniers.”

Her real motive. The freedom of speech thing is BS. She couldn’t care less about freedom of speech. Utter hypocrisy. She would instantly try to have revisionists’ freedom of speech cancelled if that didn’t endanger the Holohoax in Anglo-Saxon countries (where banned topics are regarded as suspect).

And there is no real freedom of speech when some debaters aren’t free from serious threats such as vicious attacks by powerful Zionist organizations. As far as the Holohoax and Israel are concerned, there is no real freedom of speech in Anglo-Saxon countries. There is freedom of social suicide at best. Holocaust revisionists are as free to speak as a nerd is free to not give his lunch money to the most aggressive school bully when ‘asked’ to do it. A ‘freedom’ very expensive in dental costs for sure…

    • Are there any people in the middle (like me) that haven’t come to a conclusion yet on wether this shit happened or not.

I’m asking because this is a very passionate subject. The ones who are for it,always present present positive material, and entertain negative material. The who are against it,take the same route.

I’ve noticed both sides always asking the other for records,to back up what they say. If they can’t produce the docs, then the shit, either did,or didn’t happen . Now with the way docs on the subject just pop up all the time, isn’t it possible the docs people are always saying don’t exist, might show up in those docs at a future date?

Aside from Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle dealing with quantum mechanics, it pretty much says,”nothing is ever a 100%”. That needs to be applied to this subject.

  3. Lipstadt has always opposed censorship and I respect her for that, if for no other reason. In fact, I CAN’T think of any other reason, but this ONE is pretty damn good.

    • Does she voice her opinion when countries entertain the idea of holo laws? I’m just asking. The proverbial “actions”,speak louder than words. People talk shit all the time,so I don’t know exactly how she works.

  4. I like the way she swipes at deniers by calling them (us) ‘offensive’. In my experience this is a classic leftie tactic. They want you to be able and free to hold an opinion but if they disagree with it they automatically dislike you personally and consider you to be beneath their superior intellect. You must be because you hold a differing opinion to theirs.

The fact is people like her are very worried about holocaust denial not because it is the voice of offensive people, oh no, it’s because she knows she is wrong and the holocaust cannot be proven because the facts are simply not there.

Ok. What about the fact that deniers can’t prove where all the Jews went that they say the Nazis deported and didn’t kill?

      • We don’t have to prove anything you do.

Proved. Only deniers refuse to believe the proof. They have nothing themselves.

What does that have to do with anything, Tim?

        • It don’t have dick to do with the price of tea in China. It’s an observation. You’ve never made off the cuff comments before? Clinton looks like she’d been rode hard and put up wet, after the crew of the USS Sullivan’s had liberty. She’s not a Jew. That’s why I threw her in there. Those two have a common thread. They’re liberal assholes. Yeah. Same people that think my tax dollars should support illegals. The ones who think it’s okay,to murder an unborn child. That’s why everyone loves our president. He’s willing to give away the whole circus. Just like the asshole ball players who take a knee in front of our flag. They wanna protest shit, that’s their right as Americans . Don’t forget though, that flag “gave them”,that right.

            • We all do. I’m not referring to just here. We’re all guilty of it. If there are people that don’t ,then I’d say the human race is on the road to perfection. The human race will go extinct long before that happens.

How does a person look when they are constipated? To prevent constipation, eat some fruit and vegetables — and eat some yogurt.

        • When I get locked up,pack of filterless Pall Mall smokes. Firewater used to do the trick, but I give that shit up. No Es Bueno for me.

I don’t know. Maybe the “Jew powers that be”,have all mastered the “chic” constipated look.

I saw a pic of our good worthless ass friend,Irv Ruben one time. He had the same damn. Irv’s girlfriend Earl Krugel had a much different look.

Earl’s look was the one that said,” shit! I really f–ked up. I’m going to Phoenix FCI. I’m sure to get my ass kicked there”.

I’m not a fan of the ABs,but I would thank that one AB who was locked down there, for taking Earl’s worthless ass out.

      • Once again. I’m not saying nothing happened, but history is written by those who write it. A hundred years from now, history will probably say, Concrite told Nixon to pull out of Nam,instead of the true story of him going on TV,giving “his” opinion. Remember, reporters ain’t supposed to do that shit.

When I went to Journalism school, back in the dark ages, before most of my readers were born, we were taught to give both sides of every story. That is no longer done. We were taught not to give opinions in a news story.

          • That’s why I tell people, you run your site in a responsible way. On a personal level, you’re a denier, but you still allow both sides to presented here. You do that so people like me can make up their own mind.

Find a site run by the Klan or the ABs. You ain’t gonna find that shit present there. They’ll give you ,”their opinion”. If a person don’t like it,they can go on down the road

There, see. Lipstadt’s on your side on this.

I also agree the HD should not be a crime. Every time a denier gets arrested it’s just free press for their lunacy.
