Photos from Soviet film of Auschwitz-Birkenau survivors

Two weeks after Auschwitz-Birkenau and the main Auschwitz camp were liberated by soldiers in the Army of the Soviet Union, a film was made which showed the survivors of the camp. All of the photos below are still shots from the Soviet film.

Prisoners at the main Auschwitz camp celebrate their liberation by Soviet soldiers

There were 5,800 survivors at the Auschwitz II camp (Birkenau) when the Soviets arrived on Januray 27, 1945. There were more survivors in the Auschwitz I camp (the main camp), some of whom are shown the documentary film taken in February 1945. The photo above shows men in the main camp.

Child survivors of Auschwitz-Birkenau; Eva Moses Kor is the girl on the far right

Both of the photos above are still photos from a documentary film, which was made by the Soviet Union in February 1945. This is what the survivors of a death camp looked like, no more than four weeks after they were “liberated” on January 27, 1945.

Were these survivors actually “local people dressed to look like prisoners” as my Polish tour guide claimed. This would mean that Eva Moses Kor, who is still alive, was not actually in the film, but was being impersonated by a local Polish girl.

Survivors of Auschswitz-Birkenau camp

The photograph above is a still picture taken from the Soviet movie which was shown at the beginning of the tour at the Auschwitz Museum when I visited in 1998. It shows some of the 5,800 Birkenau survivors, most of whom look like well-fed Polish peasants, walking out of the camp. In the background of the photo you can see the wooden barracks buildings, with windows under the roof, and the posts of the barbed wire fence.

The tall, skinny guy in the photo is Dr. Otto Wolken, a medical doctor in the Birkenau Quarantine camp, who stayed behind to help his fellow prisoners when the Birkenau camp was evacuated. He is the only one in the photo who looks properly emaciated, as death camp prisoners should look.

The survivors, who are shown in the photo above, are walking along an interior camp road which bisects the Birkenau camp from north to south, connecting the women’s camp with the new section of Birkenau, known as “Mexico.” For all I know, these people are imposters who were brought in by the Soviets because all the real prisoners had been forced to march out of the camp.

Dr. Wolken was the first witness to testify at the Auschwitz Trial, held by the German government in Frankfurt between 1963 and 1965.

Women who survived Auschwitz-Birkenau huddle under blankets to keep warm

In the evening the female prisoners in the Auschwitz women’s camp, who are shown in the photo above, were formed into columns, including the female prisoners who had been transferred from Birkenau. They were driven out in the direction of Rajsko. The female prisoners of the gardening and plant breeding squads from the Rajsko sub-camp joined the procession of the male and female prisoners evacuated from Auschwitz-Birkenau.

There were more survivors in the Auschwitz I camp (the main camp), some of whom are shown the documentary film taken in February 1945. The photo at the top of this page shows men in the main camp.

  1. The children didn’t wear stripped uniforms and as you can tell were given these uniforms for the camera.
Notice the clothes don’t even fit. How do the Jews account for the tens of thousands that survived?
Oh I know, as they were entering the gas chamber “they were going backwards they were going backwards”.
All the survivors have incredible stories that don’t make sense, and most of the stories are borrowed from other camp liars.
So the best story was spread around for all to use years later, because who in their right mind would check for details and accuracy?
Some of the best ones, Misha Defonseca, lived with wolves after a bold escape, some hid in the latrine with crap up to their necks, one was thrown over the fence into a passing wagon, water came out of the shower heads instead of gas, you name it it happened.
Stupid people believe this stuff because they have been so conditioned to the Holohoax LIE they don’t any better, but the truth is the TRUTH….The camps were where Jews were interned to work or serve time for their seditious ways, they were NOT massive extermination centers, if they were hardly any of them would of survived. We do know that after the war there were plenty to collect their reparations liars money approx 3-4 million. Pretty much a bribe to keep them all quiet. No fictitious story no money. So if so many lived then who died?

    • You wrote: ” How do the Jews account for the tens of thousands that survived?”

AFAIK, the Jews have no explanation for why tens of thousands survived. I believe that the prisoners survived because they had a simple diet with not much meat. They ate lots of turnips, which I believe are very good for one’s health. I attribute my longevity to eating lots of turnips.

      • Other than the diet, thousands of the Jews survived because they weren’t in a threatening situation that they all say they were in .
Yet they do their best as they lie about their Horror Disneyland experience. If taken for what really happened (boring life in the camps) they made a story that would receive oscar nominations for best drama.

  3. According to Dino Brugioni, a founder of the CIA’s National Photographic Interpretation Center over 90% of Soviet photographs and film of German atrocities during WW2 were faked. He joined the CIA in 1947.Stalin’s Torch Men Order 0428 needs to be considered also.

Interesting. Do you have a quote and/or source for that one?

          • Your linked article on Stalin’s Torch Men Order 0428 is seemingly based on a forgery.

In fact, it depends on the trust you place in a well-known speaker of the victors narrative, that is the “Institute for Contemporary History.”

According to the ICH, it’s said Stalin’s Order just stated:

Order of the Headquarters of the Supreme Command about the destruction of settlements in the area close to the front

            0428 17 November 1941

The experience of the last month has shown that the German army is badly prepared for war under winter conditions; it is lacking warm clothing, and due to the colossal difficulties that the upcoming frost has caused it, it is taking shelter in settlements in the area close to the front. The shamelessly arrogant enemy had counted on spending the winter in the warm houses of Moscow and Leningrad, but that was prevented by the action of our troops. On extended sectors of the front where they encountered tough resistance by our units, the German troops were forced to go over to the defensive and have taken quarter in the settlements located in a depth of 20 to 30 kilometers on both sides along the roads. The German soldiers generally live in cities, towns and villages, in peasant houses, barns, grain stores and bathing houses near the front, while the staffs of the German units take quarter in bigger settlements and cities, where they hide in cellars which they use as protection from our air force and our artillery. The Soviet population of these places is usually displaced and thrown out by the German occupiers.

To deny the German army the possibility of settling down in villages and cities, to chase out the German occupiers from all settlements into the cold of the field, to smoke them out of all living quarters and warm shelters and to force them to freeze to death under the open sky – that is an task not to be postponed, from the accomplishment of which the acceleration of the shattering of the enemy and the destruction of his army depends to a great extent.

The Headquarters of the Supreme Command orders:

            1. To completely destroy and burn down all settlements in the rear area of the German troops in a depth of 40 to 60 kilometers from the main line of combat and 20 to 30 kilometers to the left and right of the roads. To immediately employ the air force to destroy the settlements in the indicated radius, to use artillery and grenade launchers to a great extent, as well as reconnaisance commandos, ski units and diversion groups of the partisans equipped with bottles filled with burning substances, hand grenades and explosives.

            2. To form special units of 20 to 30 men each in every regiment for blowing up and setting on fire the settlements where the troops of the enemy take quarter. For the special units there must be chosen the fighters, commanders and political workers that are the most daring and strongest under political and moral aspects, to whom the task and its importance for the destruction of the German army must be explained in detail. Courageous fighters who distinguish themselves in daring actions for the destruction of the settlements where there are German troops are to be recommended for distinction.

            3. In case of forced retreats of our units on this or that sector, to take along the Soviet population and in any case to destroy without exception all settlements so that the enemy may not use them. The special units formed in the regiments are to be primarily used for this.

            4. To the war councils of the fronts and the single armies, to systematically verify how the tasks of destruction of the settlements are accomplished in the above mentioned radius measured from the front line. Stavka is to be given a special report every three days about how many and which settlements have been destroyed in the past days and by which means these results have been achieved.

I had to look up the previous comment to see what you meant. This is a waste of time. That’s why you should quote the comment that you are answering.

  4. Practically ALL famous photos were posed, or staged. The few real ones are miscaptioned as to what they show.
