  1. For those who haven’t read it, a book by Hugh Trevor-Roper is considered the definitive work re what happened in the Führerbunker at the end of the war: The Last Days of Hitler

    • Great video Hermie!

Do you know if the footage at the start of the film is claimed to be actual footage of Hitler’s body being burned or is it a re-enactment?

      • It’s a re-enactment for the Soviet film series Osvobozhdenie (Liberation).

  3. I wouldn’t know good German from Bad German…..my uncle married a German woman would of loved to talk about the things I have learned now to her. I’m sure she was completely brainwashed and (De-Nazified by then). The allies made sure the truth would be buried.
You wouldn’t want to give the world the idea that Hitler was right would you?

When I lived in Germany after World War II, the Germans would say, “Hitler was a great man — he got the Jews out of Germany.”

The Jews are back in Germany now, and the Germans are afraid to say one good word about Hitler.

German is a difficult language; most Americans cannot speak it correctly. Speaking German correctly is the mark of an upper class German.

  4. When I lived in Germany for 20 months in the 1950ies, very few Germans spoke German like this. It was considered to be bad form to speak German correctly.
