I wrote about the Holocaust Museum on my website at http://www.scrapbookpages.com/USHMM/Intro.html

This morning I read a news article about NBA All Star Ray Allen who is on the Board of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC.

When I started studying the Holocaust many years ago, the first place that I went was to the USHMM in Washington, DC.

One does not just GO to this Museum. First you have to apply to get on a waiting list to get in. Then, when the big day arrives, you wait for hours, in a long line outside the building, to get in.

Finally, you get in and there are people watching you, every step of the way, to make sure that you don’t damage any of the displays.

The following quote is from the news article:

Begin quote

Ten-time NBA All-Star Ray Allen was sworn in last week to serve on the board of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington. Allen, who was named to the position by former President Obama, is not only a two-time NBA champion and one of the greatest shooters of all time — he’s also passionate about Holocaust education.

When Allen learned about the Holocaust in college, “everything was like a shock to my system to understand this could take place and people didn’t really do anything about it,” he told the website The Undefeated on Friday. “It did something to my soul to be more cognizant of people around me. Care more about the next person.”

Allen first visited the museum in 1998 after being encouraged by his then-team’s owner, Sen. Herb Kohl. “I was blown away,” he remembered. “I thought, This is a place that everybody should go to….So, I took, from that day forward — every year, whatever team I played on — I would bring them to this museum.”

  1. This is supposedly a biting satire written by the wife of a former USHMM director. It might be a fun Larry David Show sort of read for those for whom the Holocaust is a limitless source of mirth and gaiety. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/27/books/review/Margolick-t.html

WTF!? — anyway, part of the reason Jews push the ‘Holocaust’, and seek to punish, one way or another, ‘Holocaust deniers’, is to keep whitey in his place — so it’s not too surprising that a black guy like Allen would sign on for that, since in general Blacks like to blame the problems of Blacks on Whites — although Mr Allen himself is a wealthy man, and the big bad white man apparently did not keep him down.
