Sybille Steinbacher’s account of the liberation of Dachau

Filed under: Dachau, Germany, Holocaust, Uncategorized — furtherglory @ 4:58 pm

One of the readers of my blog mentioned Sybille Steinbacher’s account of the libertation of Dachau.

I wrote about Steinbacher on my website years ago.  The following information is from my scrapbookpages.com website:

According to Sybille Steinbacher, who wrote a book entitled “Dachau: The Town and the Concentration Camp,” the US Army commandant of the town, after the liberation, spoke angrily to the 30 Dachauers on the day that they were brought to see the Dachau concentration camp. He told them, “As punishment for the brutality that the town tolerated next door to it, it should be sacked and turned into ashes!”

The town priest, Father Friedrich Pfanzelt, who was among the visitors, pleaded with the Americans not to destroy the town. In a series of articles in 1981, a Dachau newspaper named the Dachauer Nachrichten wrote about how the priest saved the town: “On his knees, the prelate pleaded for mercy for Dachau.”

According to Peter Wyden, author of “The Hitler Virus,” 90 percent of the residents of Dachau were Catholic. Regarding Father Pfanzelt, Wyden wrote: “Then, from the pulpit of his St. Jacob’s Church three days later, the priest set in motion Dachau’s great trauma, the protestation of innocence, the denial of guilt that would never leave the community.”

Of all people, Father Pfanzelt should have been aware of the atrocities committed inside the Dachau concentration camp. According to Wyden, “For years the SS had extended him the privilege of conducting Sunday services in the KZ. And he had reciprocated with many ingratiating letters (which Steinbacher found) and had taken pride in his cordial relations with most of the camp commandants.”

Father Pfanzelt died in 1958 without ever confirming or denying that he had saved the town from the wrath of the Americans.

Good illustration of the fact that Holohoax propaganda, not “denial” as often claimed, is in fact state-sponsored hate speech against Germans, Palestinians and Gentiles in general…

  2. I don’t think the town of Dachau was in any danger — one should give credit and say the American officers were more responsible than that.

American soldiers were fed a steady diet of anti-German propaganda (for motivation: desertion was a problem, which is the main reason Eddie Slovik was executed) — conditions at KZs were generally very bad at the end of the war — add to that the discovery of the ‘death train’ — given all that, one can ask: what would have happened at Dachau if the Americans had already seen the films shot by the British at Bergen-Belsen? — emaciated corpses being pushed into mass graves by bulldozers.

  3. F–K IT ! DESTROY IT! We f–k up everything we come in contact with. Didn’t bother anyone to DESTROY DRESDEN. Let’s bring this place to the ground. We had a great track record with murdering civilians at Dresden . Where’s the “war crimes” trial there.
I never knew how much history we destroyed in Dresden. No I’m not saying these places were more important than the people.
Semper opera house. Built in 1841. There was some church that I can’t recall the name, but it was built on the 1700’s. Bam! We f–ked it up to. They said they were rebuilding them, but they won’t be the same. My biggest question is this. Have they got any memorials to all the citizens we murdered there? They put up memorials to traitors like Staufenberg ( that’s probably not spelled right. Then again I don’t give a shit about soldiers that commit treason).
I’ve told people I served my time in Nam. I’m proud of my country. I’m proud of our military. I’m just not to thrilled with the sadistic asshole military leaders and elected officials we have, that would think killing civilians is okay.
It’s just like with Nam. When I got there my Sgt. was on his third tour. He said it was a beautiful country when he first got there. We went tear assing around the place and destroyed it. Battle at Hue. Lot of historic places destroyed there

  4. And what exactly were the “atrocities” committed within that camp. Oh, I know….the shooting of innocent German soldiers who peacefully surrendered to the Americans days before.

Ingrid’s just about as full of shit as you are, Fritz.

BTW, how’s RODOH these days? I saw Roberto giving you a nice thumping.

You figured out yet why doctors would need to train medical examiners on spotting signs of CO2 poisoning? It’s a mystery to me, after all, according to you, everyone should be able to figure it out.

      Peace out, Fritz.

Don’t you rather mean carbon monoxide (CO)? Carbon dioxide (CO2) is not supposed to have been used as a lethal poison gas in fictitious Nazi gas chambers. But who cares? Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, kikes’ farts, rabbis’ bad breath… What’s the difference? Holocaustianity is anti-science after all. Storytellers don’t care about scientific facts and constraints. They don’t understand anything about science. An Impenetrable land for them. Their dreamlike mental world leaves no room for the tedious laws of the physical world. Holocaust advocates are just priests of a mystical faith. And mystics are rarely, if ever, competent in science and interested in hard facts. They are above such things…

    • Thanks for the link — the text begins: The following article appeared first in 1997 in the German language in issue no. 2 of the small Berlin periodical Sleipnir. As a result of this and similar contributions, that particular edition of Sleipnir was confiscated and burned by the County Court of Berlin-Tiergarten. — burning written works: does that sound familiar? — when/where did that happen before?

In the same city (Berlin), there is a Denkmal to Nazi book-burning in (under actually) the Bebelplatz — but Germans today are either too stupid or too intimidated to see or remark on the parallel — to quote Trump (who’s generally not at all quotable) “SAD!”:
