  2. When I lived in Germany for 20 months, while my husband was an American Army officer there, the German men would always ask permission before singing German songs. I am not sure, but I think that it might have been forbidden to sing German songs, since Germany was an occupied country at that time. We would always encourage them to sing. Notice how handsome the men in the video are.

    • When I lived in Germany, shortly after World War II, I also observed that the German men, that I met, never seemed to get upset about anything. I would get upset over minor things, but the German men would always speak calmly to me and tell me that everything was O.K.
