American Congressman made a video inside the Auschwitz gas chamber

My 2005 photo of Auschwitz gas chamber

You can read a news story about the insensitive American Congressman who made a video inside the gas chamber at Auschwitz. My photo above shows the gas chamber where he made the video.

The following quote is from the news article cited above:

Begin quote

“Cyanide pellets activated when they hit oxygen. After about 20 minutes, everyone was dead and then slave labor would go into the room and drag the bodies of those poor souls out and bring them and incinerate them,” Higgins adds at another point. “This is why homeland security must be squared away, why our military must be invincible.”

End quote

What? “slave labor would go into the room and incinerate [the bodies]” I hope they were wearing gas masks, so they were not killed when they went inside the gas chamber to remove the bodies.

I don’t see anything wrong with making a video about the gas chamber. The problem is that the video maker would have had to sneak inside the gas chamber before the Auschwitz camp was opened to visitors. That is how I managed to get the photo at the top of this page. I sneaked in before the gas chamber was open to tourists.

Maybe the video maker asked permission to make a video. Maybe he didn’t sneak in, as I did.

The following quote is from the news article:

Begin quote

Earlier Wednesday, the Anti-Defamation League and the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect criticized Higgins’ five-minute video, which he filmed last week from inside a gas chamber at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum.

Wait a minute! He sneaked inside a gas chamber at Auschwitz-Birkenau! The gas chamber at Auschwitz-Birkenau is underground. There is only a small hole in the roof where someone can enter the underground gas chamber.

Germar Rudolf sneaked inside the underground Auschwitz-Birkenau gas chamber and took samples from the walls, as shown in the photo below.

Auschwitz memorial site has a twitter account

“Everything is up to date in Kansas City” — and at the Auschwitz Memorial Site which now has a twitter account to honor the Jews who were killed there.

Sign at the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp says in English: “You are in a building where the SS murdered thousands of people. Please maintain silence here: remember their suffering and show respect for their memory.”

My photo below shows the signs at the location of an alleged gas chamber that was allegedly destroyed by the Nazis before they abandoned the camp. Or was it destroyed by the prisoners who stayed behind and hid when the prisoners were marched out of the camp by the Nazis? Who knows?
