Holocaust survivor Israel Kristal died at the age of 113

You can read about this Holocaust survivor in a news article at:

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/08/12/media-worlds-oldest-man-holocaust-survivor-dies-at-113.html

The following quote is from the news article:

Begin quote

Israeli media are reporting that the world’s oldest man, who lived through both world wars and survived the Holocaust, has died a month short of his 114th birthday.

Ynet on Saturday quoted Israel Kristal’s daughter as saying her father died Friday. Shula Kupershtuch says: “He always saw only light and good in everything.”

Guinness World Records awarded Kristal a certificate as the world’s oldest man last year.

End quote

I have said this many times: Many of the Jews in the concentration camps camps lived to an advanced age because of their potato based diet.

Potatoes are very easy to grow; they will grow in very poor soil without any help from the grower. I know this because my family had half of a large garden planted with potatoes. I owe my good health, and my advanced age, to the fact that I eat lots of potatoes.

  1. Eating lots potatoes will make you fat. I do love mash potatoes. I have to control myself because I could eat the whole bowl.

So you probably always answer ‘Yes’ to the question ‘Do you want fries with that?’.

No, I don’t eat French fries, which are cooked in very hot fat. I only eat baked or boiled potatoes.

  3. No offense FG,but the spuds failed you on your memory. You wrote ,” I eat “lost” of potatoes”. Hey. I got a screen shot of what you wrote to prove it. You and pop are just alike. So don’t feel bad.

On a different topic. Where’s Wolfman? He popped in here and made a guest appearance and now he’s gone Houdini on us.

As far as I know, Wolf Murmelstein is now living in an old folks home. I don’t think that he does any writing now. When he wrote his last comment on my blog, I had to correct many mistakes in grammar and spelling.

      • Well I hope all is well with him. You should put up something he wrote sometime. I’ve seen you’ve had a couple new faces here recently. Turn them on to some of Wolfmans work.

  4. Yes and my dad is Irish, born in Dublin in 1926 and served in the British army at the end of the war in Palestine until 1948 and has always eaten meat and two veg. He never smoked and doesn’t drink much. He’s 91 and still going strong so while I agree vegetables are good for you it doesn’t determine your longevity. Genes do and these jews have good genes.

Why do Jews have good genes? I thought that Jews were noted for having bad genes because of in-breeding.

White potatoes are sometimes called “Irish potatoes” because they are a staple food for the Irish, as opposed to “sweet potatoes” which AFAIK, the Irish do not eat.

    • And just cause a person smokes, doesn’t mean their life will be cut short. I had a buddies meemaw smoke right up until she died . She was 96. There’s so much other shit that determines life span other than eating. Don’t get me wrong, eating right will help your chances
