“Son of Saul” wins only one Golden Globe award

When it comes to awards for movies, any film about Jews or the Holocaust is bound to win in at least several categories.  Last night, the movie Son of Saul won an award for Best Foreign Film, but nothing else.  What a revolting development this is!

You can read a review of the film at http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/18/movies/review-son-of-saul-revisits-life-and-death-in-auschwitz.html?_r=0

I have not seen the film because it has not yet played in the city where I live.  I will finally get to see it in February.

  1. Well if the movie was called “Son of Sam”,they might’ve cleaned up. Okay so Berkowitz is barely a Jew,but he’s a Jew none the less. However his claims of demonic possession,he later admitted were a hoax. I think the Jews would disown him because he used the “H” word (hoax)

  2. Son of Saul denounced as ‘Jewish propaganda’ in Hungary http://www.smh.com.au/world/son-of-saul-oscarnominated-holocaust-film-denounced-as-jewish-propaganda-in-hungary-20160117-gm7xwu.html

“Jewish propaganda!” and “For Jews, about Jews,” were among the more printable slurs that filled social media.

  4. Won’t waste my time watching it unless on Netflix. Would ever PAY to see Jewish rubbish.
But will appreciate all input from you folks who do watch it and not get sick.

  5. So the film ‘Son of Saul’ only won a single award – that’s very telling!

It would appear that the movie industry is letting the world’s producers, directors and financiers know that they don’t want this kind of stuff anymore. The holocaust has been done to death. Its just a re-hash of what’s been produced many times before; and the film-going public are weary of it all anyway.

The film received just one Golden Globe for the best foreign film, and this was done merely as a “pat on the back” for an effort by a non-US film entry. But one can catch the irony here – they’re telling the industry that the holocaust is passee, unworldly, unreal and alien. “Foreign” in other words.

  6. Well, I still haven’t taken my children to the new Star Wars movie.
I think I will just take them to that instead.
I go see movies for entertainment, not to be depressed.

  7. RUCKER. The word “shmolocaust” shows Your lack of any respect for the victims of a great tragedy. Astonishing as even Your wife and children could have been among those victims.

    • AFAIK, Rucker is not Jewish, so how could his wife and children have been among the Holocaust victims?

      • FURTHERGLORY. Rucker himself stated that his wife is Jewish. I look forward to his reply.
At any rate I will not watch that film when in TV.

  8. I’m looking forward to missing this one.

    Holocaust, Shmolocaust.

    • I think that should be “Schmolocaust” if it is a German word.

      • FURTHERGLORY. The word “schmolocaust” too shows little respect for the victims. At any rate I will not watch that film.
