Should Elie Wiesel come clean?

Should Elie Wiesel, the world’s most famous Holocaust survivor, come clean about his life story?  There is a whole website devoted to proving that Elie Wiesel was never a prisoner at Auschwitz, nor at Buchenwald.  The latest article on this website is entitled “When did Elie Wiesel arrive at Auschwitz? Could he have received the number A-7713?”  You can read the article in full here.

As far as I know, Elie Wiesel has never acknowledged that Carolyn Yeager has done extensive research and has proved that he lied under oath when he claimed that he has the number A-7713 tattooed on his arm.  I think that Elie should come clean and admit that he is a fraud.  I believe that all the little kids who have read his book Night would come to his defense and forgive him.

Elie Wiesel appears to be in good health, but he is at the age where he could leave this earth any day now.  He should ensure that his legacy is protected before that happens. Who knows what will happen if he dies before coming clean and asking for forgiveness.

I blame Oprah for this debacle. In 2005, Oprah selected the “memoir” of James Frey, entitled A Million Little Pieces as her book club selection. Some people questioned the truth of the book, and Oprah came to the defense of James Frey. Two weeks after defending Frey on the Larry King show, Oprah brought Frey back onto her show and confronted him in front of a live audience. Meanwhile Frey’s “memoir” had sold 2 million copies in the three-month window between Oprah’s announcement of its selection and her confrontation of Frey before a live audience. Oprah’s next book club selection was Elie Wiesel’s Night.  At that time, the book Night was classified as fiction on Elie Wiesel’s own website.  But when Oprah selected it for her Book Club, the book became a non-fictional account of Elie Wiesel’s true story of surviving Auschwitz and Buchenwald.

Another Holocaust survivor, Herman Rosenblat, went on Oprah’s show and told the story of how he met his wife when she threw apples over the fence to him (at the age of 9) while he was in a sub-camp of Buchenwald.  After the publicity that he received from the Oprah show, Rosenblat landed a book contract.  Rosenblat was on the Oprah show twice.  The second time that he was on, I watched the show, and the minute that it was over, I e-mailed Oprah that this story could not possibly be true.  I don’t think anyone paid any attention to my e-mail, but other people also told Oprah that the Rosenblat story was fiction and his book was never published, as far as I know.

All is not lost.  Oprah no longer has a talk show, but she could go on some other talk show (I like the Dr. Drew show) and apologize to Elie Wiesel for enticing him to change the status of his book to non-fiction.  Night is a great piece of literature and Elie Wiesel is a Holocaust icon.  None of that would change if Elie Wiesel would just come clean and tell the truth.  He would be admired even more for telling the truth.  Keep in mind that nothing bad happened to Herman Rosenblat.

Meanwhile Holocaust education continues in American schools.  Read about how a 6th grade class was indoctrinated:  http://durantdemocrat.com/news/local-news-1/2759/students-study-holocaust

  1. Ellie Wiesel is a bad person as Miklos Gruner as been made out to be a fraud when he had all that done to him ! My heart breaks that this guys own country choose a stranger over him !

  2. It’s very straight forward he either has the tattoo or he doesn’t – in photos his forearm is appears clear of any tattoo. If the story was a fictional but valid narrative he needs to say so.

  3. The funny thing about “Elie Wiesel” is that he is that the real Eliazar Wiesel came from a Hungarian speaking part of Romania, but “Elie Wiesel” speaks neither Hungarian nor Romanian. He does, however, speak English with a Serbian accent and his entry card to France in 1954 records that he entered France from his native Yugoslavia (the entry card was issued by the Yugoslavian embassy in Paris). His entry card shows his photo but the part with his name on it is cut off in the photo. Presumably his real name is something Serbian. He was sent by the US as an ambassador to the Balkans, presumably because of his native language skills in Serbo-Croat.

    • There is a whole website ( http://www.eliewieseltattoo.com/ ) devoted to Elie Wiesel. You can probably search this website, in the link above, for any information about his “native Yugoslavia.” I don’t believe that he was ever in Auschwitz, nor that he was sent to Paris with the “Buchenwald orphans.”

  4. That Wiesel website is misleading and doesn’t have any “answers” except denying the fact that Wiesel and his family were sent to Auschwitz. Of course, the site can’t prove who “Elie Wiesel” really is or where he was, but that’s because Elie Wiesel IS Elie Wiesel – DUH !

For over a year the site has claimed that the Yiddish book proves that Wiesel didn’t write it, yet recent translations prove he did. http://forum.codoh.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6632&sid=0a24d3d754c40e2e43b484356418b692&start=60#p49124

No, Elie Wiesel didn’t steal another Elie Wiesel’s identity. That’s incredibly stupid.

The Holocaust survivor liar, Niklaus Gruner, who originated this lie has been thoroughly debunked.

Anyone who believes in the parallel Wiesel theory at this point has no ability to discern reality.

    Furtherglory, you’ve been mislead.

I hope you’ll stop misleading others about the Jewish Holohoax survivor Gruner’s phony stolen identity lie.

    • I’m not saying that Elie Wiesel stole anyone’s identity. I’m saying that he should go on national TV (maybe the new Anderson show) and confess that he lied under oath about having a tattoo. He should show his arm and explain that he has no tattoo, and has never had a tattoo because he was never at Auschwitz. He should explain that he has no ID number from Buchenwald because he was never in Buchenwald. He should confess that there were no burning pits at Auschwitz and that no babies were burned alive. He should apologize for his ill-gotten gains and donate some of his money to charity — maybe donate to a fund for the Jews who were cheated by Bernie Madoff.

His book should again be classified as a novel. It can still be read in American schools. The Book entitled “Fragments” by Binjamin Wilkomirski is still assigned to school children, but with the understanding that it is fiction. Jerzy Kosinski’s book “The Painted Bird” is still assigned to students, but as fiction. There should be a course in college on fake Holocaust books. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong about writing a fake Holocaust survivor book. Just don’t claim that it is true. And don’t lie under oath about having a tattoo when you don’t have one.

furtherglory, you’re being facetious here, aren’t you ?

        • Thanks for the link. I didn’t know that Elie Wiesel was one of the Jews who were cheated by Bernie Madoff. I have been known to write facetiously, but I was being sincere in this post. The Holocaust saga has suffered a lot of hits. I think it would help the Holocaustians if Elie Wiesel would come clean and tell the world the truth.

          • You can find the story about Elie Wiesel and Bernie Madoff referred to on http://eliewieseltattoo.com on the left-hand sidebar under Who’s Afraid of Elie Wiesel? — it’s been there since the site went up in July 2010. I thought you were being facetious too.

Are you also sincere that you want Elie Wiesel to “come clean and tell the truth?” As I suspected, you secretly like Elie Wiesel … but you need to accept the bitter pill that Elie Wiesel is incapable of telling the truth and never will. He is a L I A R. And an asset for Israel. Will they ever tell the truth? Have they ever?

            Comment by Carolyn Yeager — January 23, 2012 @ 8:10 am

            • Yes, I am sincere that I want Elie Wiesel to come clean and tell the truth. As you might know, Joe Paterno died on Sunday morning. Unfortunately, his legacy as a famous football coach has been tarnished by the recent child molestation scandal. You can read just one of the articles about Joe Paterno’s legacy at http://www.canada.com/sports/soccer/Paterno+legacy+will+tainted/6037681/story.html
The title of the article is “Joe Paterno’s legacy will be tainted.”

Just this morning, I heard someone say on the news on TV: “Joe Paterno put football in front of children.” Meaning that he put football before the protection of children from child predators.

This is what could happen to Elie Wiesel when he dies. Someone is sure to say “He put money and fame before children.” His books are read by school children. Elie Wiesel should put the children first and tell the truth. It would be best for him to come clean now. I suspect that Ken Waltzer is on to him, but doesn’t have the courage to advise Elie on this important matter before it is too late.

      • What about a mandatory study of The Protocols ?

        As fiction, of course !

        Comment by Eager for Answers — January 21, 2012 @ 6:04 pm

        • The Protocols is a very touchy subject and is best left unmentioned. Although it was not written by Jews, strangely everything mentioned in the Protocols has come to pass.

    • Dear Holocaust Denier (who used to comment here as Eric Hunt),

Why is it so important to you to stop, or shut down, or change “Elie Wiesel Cons The World”? What makes you so fanatical about it?

You write: “No, Elie Wiesel didn’t steal another Elie Wiesel’s identity. That’s incredibly stupid.”
What is stupid about it? Please explain. Why do you say that N. Grüner’s research and recall has been “thoroughly debunked?” By whom … you? Sure, his story is full of his own holocaust exaggerations and nonsense. They all are.

What is the ‘parallel Wiesel theory’?

Furtherglory has written quite a funny blog here and should be commended. I enjoyed it. FG likes to be tongue-in-cheek but if he is misleading others it’s in being too nice to Elie Wiesel and considering his book Night to be great fiction. It’s fiction all right, but great …?

To FG: It is, however, probably better than his other books. (I recently read Dawn; it’s full of symbolism that basically appeals to youth and is very political and pro-Zionist.) I’m not convinced he did most of the writing of NIght … much “editing” was done by Francois Mauriac and editor Jerome Lindon. Furtherglory, you would have to read the 245-page “Un di velt hot geshvign” (in translation of course) to know if it’s a great book. But that is not yet available. Elie Wiesel actually said that Jerome Lindon edited the 245 pages to the 100 pages of Night. So who wrote Night?

      Comment by Carolyn Yeager — January 21, 2012 @ 8:07 pm

      • Have you heard any more about Ken Waltzer’s book about the Buchenwald orphans? Do you suspect that the delay in publishing this book might have something to do with the fact that Buchenwald’s most famous orphan does not have a Buchenwald ID number? You can’t have a book about the Buchenwald orphans without mentioning the most famous orphan of all, Elie Wiesel. But if Waltzer publishes such a book, a new website might spring up, which will challenge the story.

        Comment by furtherglory — January 22, 2012 @ 12:19 pm

        • Glad you asked about Prof. Kenneth Waltzer. He has been completely silent for how long now? I really believe I have scared him off, or at least slowed him down quite a bit. He wrote a comment at “Elie Wiesel Cons The World” last June 27 — 7 months ago — saying that Elie Wiesel was/is the Lazar Wiesel registered at Buchenwald and Abram Wiesel is his father Shlomo. He said that he was VERY SOON coming out with a paper that would “prove” this … but we still haven’t seen a paper. I was looking forward to it, too!

On Waltzer’s James Madison College website page, there is this: “His major current project is a book on The Rescue of Children and Youth at Buchenwald. In summer 2005, he was a member of the Brandeis Israel Studies faculty, and in summer 2006 he taught in Israel. http://jmc.msu.edu/contact/show.php?id=32

On his more personal MSU webpages, there is nothing new. http://special.news.msu.edu/holocaust/index.php?home. He gives no update on his book project that began in 2005-06. Is he earning his keep?

Maybe you (or someone) should write to him and ask him how his book is coming. waltzer@msu.edu

        • Ken Waltzer is very busy “looking into the abyss”.

          Comment by Eager for Answers — January 22, 2012 @ 7:22 pm

          • On Waltzer’s website http://special.news.msu.edu/holocaust/wiesel
I read this about Elie Wiesel: “He was too weak at liberation on April 11 to leave his barracks (hence he was photographed in a famous picture in the barracks on April 12 or 13), and he came to understand he was free only days later.”

The “famous picture in the barracks,” the photo that Elie Wiesel claims that he is in, was taken inside Buchenwald Barrack 56 by Private H. Miller of the Civil Affairs Branch of the U. S. Army Signal Corps on April 16, 1945, five days after the Buchenwald camp was liberated by the Sixth Armored Division of the US Third Army on April 11, 1945. This photo was published by the New York Times on May 6, 1945 with the caption “Crowded Bunks in the Prison Camp at Buchenwald.” Block 56 was an adult barrack in the “Small Camp” at Buchenwald.

I don’t know of any famous photo that was taken in Barrack 66, which was the orphan’s barrack. In his book “Night,” Elie wrote that he became sick three days after the camp was liberated on April 11, 1945 and was in the hospital for two weeks. Apparently, Elie left the hospital and went over to the Adult barrack #56 so that he could get into a famous picture. Now Ken Waltzer has changed the date, that the famous picture was taken, to April 12th or 13th.

            • Thanks, Eager for Answers, for that link. Very funny.

Yes, FG, that is the kind of “scholar” and “historian” Ken Waltzer is. One who works for Elie Wiesel and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, yet gets paid (no doubt generously) by the Michigan State University system. It’s how the Jewish control of the U.S. economy works.

They change the written words at will to fit their needs; the brainwashed believers, and university students, don’t notice because they’re not encouraged or rewarded to study the facts of the matter. Notice from Waltzer’s new course at Flint what his students are told to read … emotional holocaust testimonies! They stay away from any historical method.

              Comment by Carolyn Yeager — January 23, 2012 @ 8:26 am

    • If Elie Wiesel did not steal another Elie Wiesel’s identity, why does he speak English with a Serbian accent and not a Hungarian accent? The original Elie Wiesel came from a Hungarian speaking part of Romania. Also, why did Elie Wiesel have an entry card in 1954 from the Yugoslavian embassy in Paris? (Serbia was part of the old Yugoslavia).

  5. A nice piece of literature about Auschwitz is Imre Kertesz’s “Fateless”; it reads like a version of “Night”, if “Night” was written with style and elegance.

Of course , like his fellow tribesmen, Kertsz can’t help sprinkling incredible details here and there; maybe that’s why it’s classified as fiction.

    You can read it here.
