This photo shows prisoners who were liberated at Auschwitz, not at Mauthausen

The photo above was used to illustrate this news article: http://www.thedailybeast.com/the-holocaust-didnt-end-with-the-liberation-of-auschwitz-and-the-nazi-death-camps

The following quote is from the news article:

For more than 70 years, Marsha Kreuzman has believed that she would be better off dead.

Death first promised salvation during her years of physical and psychological torture at the Mauthausen concentration camp as the Second World War devastated Europe.

When the Nazi encampment was liberated in May 1945, an American soldier tried to help her to her feet. Kreuzman recalls: “He said, ‘You have to walk.’ I said, ‘I don’t want to walk, I want to die.’”

Kreuzman, who now lives in Livingston, New Jersey, is sorry that she was not more joyful when the moment of liberation arrived; she is painfully aware that so many of her friends, her compatriots, her family were unable to escape the horror of one of history’s darkest chapters.

The liberation of Mauthausen

I have a whole section on my website about the liberation of Mauthausen: http://www.scrapbookpages.com/Mauthausen/KZMauthausen/Liberation/index.html

The photograph shown above was taken on May 6, 1945, the day after the official liberation of the Mauthausen main camp. It shows prisoners surrounding an M8 Greyhound armored car.

According to Pierre Serge Choumoff, the liberation of Mauthausen, as shown in the photo above, was reenacted for photographers at the request of General Dwight D. Eisenhower. The Nazi eagle over the gate had already been removed by the prisoners and a banner, written in Spanish, had been put up by the Spanish political prisoners. The English translation reads “The Spanish Anti-Fascists Salute the Liberating Forces.”

These prisoners were Spanish Republicans who had fought against General Francisco Franco’s Fascist forces in the Spanish Civil War and had escaped to France when the Republicans lost the war.

The Spanish Republicans were interned by the French and later, when the Germans defeated France in 1940, they were incarcerated as political prisoners because they were opposed to the Nazis. Germany had fought on the side of Franco in the Spanish Civil War, which was a war between the Fascists and the Communists. For the anti-Fascist Spanish Republicans, Mauthausen has the same significance as Auschwitz does for the Jews.

On May 5, 1945, the date usually given for the official liberation of the Mauthausen main concentration camp, a platoon of 23 men from the 11th Armored Division of the US Third Army, led by Staff Sgt. Albert J. Kosiek, arrived at the main camp near the town of Mauthausen. They were guided there by Louis Haefliger, a Red Cross representative in the camp, and two German soldiers, after first liberating the Gusen sub-camp, 6 kilometers to the west.

  1. Another propaganda photo op to show the lies that were spread by the allies. Kids as was mentioned didn’t wear striped clothing, notice how huge the clothing is on them.
This also goes against the lies that children went straight to the gas chambers who were under 15 years old. Sure seems to me a lot of children under 15 survived.
Also have you ever seen pictures of young dead children looking like skeletons in the camps, or any dead children at all.

    • Thank you Jimbo! Praise Jesus . I was waiting for someone to bring up,how there is never any photo ops with dead kids. I’m not saying there wasn’t any dead kids. If there was,it was probably because of typhus like the adults. If everyone really wanted to play the sympathy card, they’d have pics of dead kids. So why don’t they do that? Would they say,”that would be too much”. Well a stack of stiffs is over the top if you ask me. What difference is it gonna make if you have pics of dead kids ? Question everything.

As far as I can remember, I haven’t. No surprise since we both know that the terrible scenes of inmates looking like skeletons took place in the last operational German concentration camps (due to the consequences of the Allied carpet bombings, of the general collapse of Germany and of the serious overcrowding in these camps) and that the Nazis evacuated some of their inmates westwards because they needed laborers for their factories (they still had a war to win). The Nazis had no reason to evacuate kids westwards since the latter were quite useless for their industries. Of course, the Nazis didn’t want more Jews than needed within their borders. The inmates who finally looked like skeletons in the last German concentration camps, were forced laborers to be used in order to win the war, not Jewish kids of no use for that purpose.

  2. The story of “death camp” Auschwitz is that those deemed unfit for work were gassed immediately upon arrival — also part of this story is that at some point this practice stopped — I count 11 kids in the foto above; assume all of them were imprisoned at Auschwitz (?) — all of them appear to be too young/unfit for work — since they are still alive, per the story it must be that they arrived after the ‘selections’ stopped — one can ask: how did it make sense for the Germans to continue to imprison kids, and likely their mothers (eg Edith Frank) who would only be a care burden, while trying to fight a war? — I do not deny that this happened; the Frank girls are a specific example — talk about cruel and stupid — this is no doubt in part why people believe the gas chamber tales so easily: the clear cruelty of the Nazis.

The Jews were imprisoned so that they would not be able to help the enemy during wartime. The Jews who were not in camps were fighting as illegal combatants.

      • How were the Frank girls going to “help the enemy”?

Anne had a short wave radio and she was listening to enemy broadcasts. She could have been giving information to the Allies.

        • Anne had a short wave radio

There are two kinds of shortwave radios: 1) receivers, and 2) radios that can both receive and transmit — are you sure that a young teenage Jewish girl hiding in Amsterdam had a shortwave transmitter? — and what kind of info do you imagine she could have provided? — keep in mind the British had already cracked the Enigma machine and so read many of the secret military messages sent by the Germans — compared to that, what could a little Jewish girl hiding in an annex in Amsterdam offer?

I don’t know if she had a shortwave transmitter, but Anne Frank described in the June 6, 1944 entry to her diary how she and her family huddled around a radio in their attic hideaway to hear details of the invasion.

            • Yeah, but didn’t a lot of families have radios? Didn’t they used to broadcast cryptic messages over the radio too? Isn’t that how they’d communicate with their spies?

        • They were actually ,”Batgirl,Wonder Woman and Supergirl”,going incognito.

      • And when they are caught and executed, people cried. Boo f–kin hoo! Tell those people wake up. They were,”illegal combatants”. I always thought in a war, that was crass. However nothing makes sense in war. However those are the rules. You break ’em,you pay.

    • Here’s the one that never made sense. The slave children in pre Civil War south were put to work at an early age. From like 5 years old on. At that age they were just made to do shit like pick up trash, weed gardens, shit like that . 10 to 12 year olds would usually milk cows, feed chickens. At age 12 they went to the fields. It don’t make sense that they would bump the kids off. I’m sure they realized they could contribute. The holo is full of BS lies of nothing but cruelty, just like the period of the African American slaves. Bad part is,like George Carlin would say,”people are f–kin dumb!” True statement . The sheeple accept all the BS they’re fed and beg for more.

  3. Marsha! Marsha! Marsha! ( I’m sorry. That name there was begging for that one. Yeah I know the name of Marsha on Brady bunch was spelled different). Hey look at the picture. Some of those Hebs don’t look like they missed any meals. Nice round fat faces. Just because the others had thin faces with suken eyes, how do we know they may not have been sick? People milk the shit outta these pics

    • As a rule, children in concentration camps did not wear prison uniforms, unless they were part of a working Kommando at a certain age. This is most likely a Russian propaganda picture, or American? (it has appeared previously with an entirely different caption) here the children were told to put any striped pieces of pajama on that they quickly could find, as long as they looked like little zebras.
Look at it again, what a joke!

      Comment by Herbert Stolpmann — June 18, 2017 @ 1:04 am

      • Then why do they try to drop BS movies on us like,”the boy in the striped pajamas?” Well as I can remember the movie, the boy in the movie, just knocked around all day.

While we’re on movies,”Schiendlers list” ( spellcheck. I know the name ain’t spelled right). If it’s possible one German was nice to the Jews, isn’t it possible a lot more were? I’m not buying into Schiendler being an enigma. FG has repeatedly stated,”Germans ain’t bad folks”. From where I stand, that proves the ones who write history are cruel, perverse and just downright hateful.

Way I got it figured, why put any of these people who were prison staff,on trial? History put them on trial and convicted them long ago. I mean with the BS history has written, they’re convicted long before they go to the “kangaroo courts “. Their legal consul can’t even argue for a change of venue, because everybody has read the history of WW2. Fair trial is impossible. If they go to pick a jury,I wonder if the defense even asks people what do you know about the holo? You’d have to dismiss every potential juror. Maybe if you hit one of those backwater klans that live deep in the Rain Forest. They usually don’t even know what year we’re in

      • The picture is from a Soviet film about the Auschwitz liberation and was probably staged. Read under the heading “Event History” at:
